Expertly crafted food with amazing vintage bicycles. This is easily one of my favorite brunch spots in Berlin!
While their pancakes are known to be out of this world (and they are!), The simple preparation of scrambled eggs, feta, and bacon is also top-notch for that hangover recovery plan.
The flat-white coffee never disappoints, but be careful, you might want to order two!
The menu serves a variety of carnivorous, vegetarian, and vegan options--all of which have made my taste buds, tummy, and mind delighted.
The maple-cured bacon pancakes (with scrambled eggs and a side of maple syrup) is a particular indulgence that I save for special days.
For the lighter bite, I usually hit the avocado toast. The scrambled eggs w/feta and bacon is my happy in-between.
During the nice weather, I prefer the outdoor seating (four-tops on the raised patio, two-tops on the sidewalk, both of which are covered by an awning for shelter). Indoor seating is a real treat too as you can get a picture-window seat next to the bike customization / restoration shop while chomping up the delectable goodness.
There's a shop inside too that has many accessories for your vintage cycling dreams, and of course, they will happily let you part with a vintage bike of your own if you're willing to also part with several hundreds to a couple thousand euros if you lust after that occassional '70s Hugo Rickert...
Read more🥜NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH A NUT ALLERGY🥜 Would give a zero if I could. Didn't even get a chance to eat here and with the service provided I'm glad that I couldn't. We sat and looked at the menu and noticed that every single item on the menu contained the allergen symbol for nuts - even eggs on toast. We then asked the waiter for clarification if these items actually contained nuts or if it was possibly just that it contained traces, he informed us that it was "his first day" and he asked inside and then came out and just repeated what we already saw on the menu. At this point due to my partner having allergies we informed him that we couldn't eat here and would leave and apologise, he just said ok without any care at all or apology and walked away. Firstly this was horrible service, secondly your staff should be trained on what is in your items so that people with allergies can eat with informed ideas and won't risk a reaction and lastly if it is an entire menu containing nuts then this should be altered and it's unfair considering over 17 million people in Europe have a nut allergy. The whole experience is slightly unfortunate and the menu looked nice with good sounding pancakes that I...
Read moreToday marks one week, since I had started this coffee blog and it was so busy and interesting I’m in fancy Auguststrasse 91, in hipster Berlin Mitte close to the Oranienstraße. Today I wanted to find sometime special or unusual, so this place caught my attention. “Steele Vintage Bikes Cafe & Workshop” is exactly what the name says. Inside it’s all about bikes and bike culture, and you can get yours fixed here too. While you wait for it, just take a seat and enjoy the great coffee and specials offered here by friendly barista girls. There are baking goods, cakes and vegetarian food like Bowles and salads. I love sitting outside on the historical little terrace while looking down on the old cob stone August street, the heart of this area.
