This place had looks - a storybook patio setup that made you think you'd stumbled into a fairytale village. Too bad the reality behind that pretty facade was an disorganized mess.
The food? Good, but nothing mind-blowing. Yet they charged prices like it was some award-winning feast. A bit disappointing compared to better brunch spots around Schönenberg.
But the real downfall was the ridiculous wait. A full-blown kitchen meltdown with a one-hour delay for eggs and bread and a 30-minute struggle just to get water and coffee. The poor saps in the back of house couldn't keep up with orders to save their lives - a total kitchen bottleneck chaos.
Having a nice patio means nothing when the kitchen's drowning under the demand, and you're watching precious weekend hours tick by while desperately waiting for someone to finally bring you a drink. This place needs to get its Back of House operations together before I'll brave that...
Read morePositives: Loved the colourful decor and the windows overlooking the park. Great coffee and an amazing brunch cocktail menu. We were given a table for two on a Sunday morning without a reservation.
Negatives: €14.90 for an Egg Benedict. That’s not a typo. It was a SINGLE poached egg on a slice of brioche with broccoli florets, celery cream and a foamy hollandaise sauce. Mind you, we’re not in America in the middle of an egg crisis. Granted the dish was delicious, but c’mon. The King’s Breakfast is €16 and offers better value with two links of Chorizo, three strips of bacon, two slices of brioche, a bowl of amazing baked beans…and one egg. Service seemed slow. We waited fifteen minutes before someone came to take our order and that was after waving them down. Other tables were served more efficiently.
Would we go back? For a cup of coffee perhaps, but...
Read moreI was really excited about visiting this place. We had walked past it many times and the atmosphere seemed very lively and upbeat. Once we actually went there, it was a different situation. The atmosphere and the service was great. The food was absolutely not good. My friend had gotten Benny egg Benedict but then she was informed that they were out of the bread so they offered to substitute scalloped potatoes. Instead. She agreed because the waitress said it was a very unique taste. The portion they brought her out was the size of a kids menu. It was so small that once we left we actually had to go get her. Something else to eat. If you're looking for atmosphere, this is a great place to go. But if you're looking for a good meal, I do not recommend it. Portions sizes are small. Food quality is poor. I do not think I would ever go to this...
