TiER — Restaurant in Berlin

I LOVED this bar! It was full and they didn't have a table when we arrived, but were happy for us to stand at the bar and order drinks there. The manager kept track of what order people were coming in, and as soon as a table became free he made sure we were able to sit down. Normally in a bar this cool there is an element of snobbery and you sometimes don't feel welcome, but not this place!! The employees are so friendly and seem genuinely excited to share the place with you. You can tell the bartenders take real pride in their jobs and making amazing drinks and the choice of ingredients to choose from. The low lighting and smoking made for a really cosy atmosphere, and it felt almost like a speakeasy! There were really nice touches throughout, including the fact that the music was on vinyl that the bartenders were choosing and left the record sleeves on show so if you hear a song you like you could check what it was. They also had a little vintage TV on the drink shelf that was playing a video loop of a cat being stroked which I loved. I had a few negronis which were perfectly made, and a "Phillip Seymour" which I believe was rum, bitters and chocolate, and it was divine!! Definitely...

We have been going to this place regularly all month, it’s the coziest atmosphere and the cocktails are divine. However, 1 brunette man with long hair pulled back in a ponytail- he might have been a manager- completely ruined our experience and we are never going back. The second we walked in to join some friends, he was immediately hostile, aggressively stating that if we brought anyone else into our party we would be kicked out? The bar was almost empty, there was plenty of room, and we were not being disrespectful. That kind of response walking in was completely unwarranted and left a really bad taste in our mouths. Later he came back and laid into us about taking a picture on our film camera. I can respect no pictures, but his attitude and tone was completely uncalled for and very rude. We left immediately and Tier lost a lot of business, because before his rudeness we were going to stay all night. The majority of the Tier Staff is wonderful, but this particular man is a nightmare and should...

So we've been going there for 3 years now. As usual we were 8 persons. The group left and me and my Boy stayed and ordered 2 more drinks. The waiter said « You have still 2 drinks to pay ». Fine, we had 4 drinks as open tab. I go to pay: there are 6 drinks to pay. How convenient. I told the waiter (a blond one) he messed up and that i was not happy to suddenly pay more 2 drinks, obviously. Instead of apologising and being cordial about this not so rare moment, the dude goes mental like my little brother when i say no. ( ? ) Meanwhile this Jane Doe behind the counter starts to ssh shh my Boy while he's trying to cordially , becoming upset, to talk with the agitated waiter. ( ?? ) Cherry in the cake says to me the dude that is always there ( with a beard ) « I am not giving you any service, you are a guest in my living room » ( ???? )

So, i got childness, unpoliteness and arrogance instead of professionalism and acknowledgment of the mistake from staff. And that's how it should be if it was world...
