The wait staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was cozy and very nice! My friend and I were looking for a place for a late dinner and they were able to seat and serve us before their kitchen closed. The 3 stars are for the atmosphere, wait staff, and maybe the drinks. I only had a beer, but I imagine their cocktails are lovely. I cannot rate this restaurant more than 3 stars due to the menu and the food. I’ll start by saying that if you are a foodie who enjoys fancier food, this place might be perfect for you. The food was very good and certainly unique from other bars and restaurants in the area. If you’re a more simple person looking for yummy soul food to fill you up, maybe this isn’t the place. My friend and I are English/German bilingual speakers and neither of us could identify any of the food items without a translator. The menu is a mix of Italian, French, German, as well as a few Japanese words and Arabic names for sauces or other ingredients we weren’t familiar with. We had no clue what any of the dishes were and the details under each item didn’t clarify anything for us. I just told the waitress that I didn’t understand any of the menu and she was very sweet and described each dish to us in detail in English. I am not Into super fancy food, so I decided to go with two of the appetizers and my friend got the calamari. My cauliflower appetizer was the same size as his plate of calamari, and while they were both good, they didn’t blow us away and we were left a bit hungry. My friend was a fan of the pulled pork croquettes but as an American, my idea of pulled pork includes some kind of rich and highly seasoned sauce, so it wasn’t my favorite, it was just plain meat fried in batter with a little bit of hot sauce to dip it in. The focaccia bread was delicious but the herb dip it came with was rather bland. It needed salt or garlic or basil or something. The cauliflower was very good, well prepared, but I found it a bit bland, needing more herbs and seasoning. We ate everything and were satisfied as we left, and we of course tipped our lovely waitress, but we will not be returning. For the price we paid for our food, we didn’t feel like it was worth it for us. We would encourage everyone to go and formulate their own...

I specifically booked a table at Beuster to celebrate my 10-year anniversary of living in Berlin. I requested outdoor seating because the weather was amazing. When we arrived, the host told us that outdoor tables aren’t reservable and that we’d have to wait in line. There was absolutely no mention of this anywhere—neither on their website nor on the booking platform.
The host told us to wait but didn’t give us any estimate of how long it would take. After 1 hour and 15 minutes—and two check-ins with the host—we were finally seated. By that time, the sun had already gone down, and mind you, this was on one of the longest days of the year.
We were starving, frustrated, and annoyed. The food was just okay—the aubergine lacked flavor and the steak wasn’t a great cut.
You need to seriously improve your communication with customers. If we had known we’d be waiting over an hour, we would have gone somewhere else. Be clear on your website and booking system that outdoor seating can't be reserved. If someone makes a request for it, at least send an email explaining the policy. Telling people last-minute is not acceptable.
If guests are clearly unhappy, the least you can do is offer some water, apologize, or do something to try to make it better.
And one more thing—only accepting card payments is fine, but when we asked for a moment to decide how to split the bill, the waiter insisted we pay immediately and “figure it out later.” It was awkward and came off as rude.
The girl serving tables inside was absolutely amazing and very...

I had 6 oysters, moules frites, and a €30 bottle of white wine. The wine didn't live up to its price, and the oysters were a disaster. More than half were dry and smelled bad, like they'd been sitting around for ages or reused. Their texture was odd, too, almost "buttery." When we complained, the server responded without any apology, "No one's complained before you." Who cares about others when you're paying €22 for subpar oysters? It's not my fault; it's the kitchen's negligence. They reluctantly replaced them, but the presentation and taste were still lacking. To top it off, there was no proper fork for the oysters, so we had to use a giant one. Even after enduring the disaster of a buttery oyster, the server didn't bother to change our forks.
Even the moules frites were disappointing, missing essential flavors. They need more herbs, wine, and butter, please.
The service was a final letdown. They forgot our water request, and it seemed like the lady at the counter was expecting a tip. We hope this awful experience was a one-off accident, not because they considered us "tourists." We're locals here, and this experience was...
