Kim Phat — Restaurant in Bonn

Often, the best restaurants can be found outside the town centers, i.e. in less obvious residental areas. There, lacking a prominent location, these restautants can only attract customers by good food. Kim Phat proves that rule right. It is the best Thai restaurant that I know in the greater Bonn area. Their food is fresh and delicious and besides excellent Thai food their menu has also Chinese and Vietnamese influence. Both the quality of their dishes and the size of the portions are more worth than you would pay for almost anywhere else in Germany. The restaurant, altough located in a basement, is very nicely decorated and the staff / owners are ever so modest and kind. I used to write a review here back in March 2023 but I have to re-edit again, It was my second time been here and I was very satisfied and pleasant by the food and nice service that they offered, the staff was kind and made big portion for me(look at the picture of fried noodle!!) Can’t thank enough and I want to go there again very soon.

Ich bin kein Freund von schlechten Bewertungen, allerdings muss das jetzt mal sein. Ich bin frisch nach Plittersdorf gezogen und auf der Suche nach guten neuen Restaurants. Da ich die Thaiküche sehr gerne esse und auch gut kenne, bin ich auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Ich habe mir ein Hähnchen Curry bestellt und es mit nach Hause genommen. Dieses Curry war leider lieblos in die Pfanne geschmissen worden. Es hat absolut nichts mit thailändischer Küche zutun. Ich liebe die Explosion vom Geschmäckern die bei Thaigerichten aufkommt, was hier leider absolut nicht der Fall war. Der Bambus, geschmacklos aus der Dose, keine frischen besonderen Kräuter/Gewürze wie Zitronengras, Limettenblätter Thaibasilikum, Fischsosse. Es fehlte an Schärfe. Das Gericht war überfüllt mit Bohnen und Paprika, um die Schale voll zu bekommen. Die Soße war dickflüssig, könnte vom Geschmack her, sogar mit Mehl angedickt sein, was ich aber nicht beurteilen möchte. Der Curry Geschmack fehlte komplett, dafür schmeckte es nach Paprika.
