I went to Mayra's for the first time in 2019. I returned 2 years later to find everything there is still as amazingly delicious as before! They have a selection of homemade cakes that changes daily and a Milchkaffee (milk coffee) to die for! It's served in a bowl (no joke) and is definitely a must try for anyone who, like myself, wishes their coffee would last longer. 😅 The staff are friendly and the atmosphere inside is very homey and cozy. It's a very family-friendly place too. The top floor has a room with toys for kids to play with. Unfortunately, this was closed the last time I went due to the pandemic. I look forward to the next time I get the chance to visit Mayra's. My drink suggestions are the Milchkaffee and the galão (Portuguese coffee drink). As for sweet treats I encourage you to try the Coco Chanel cake (coconut and Nutella cake), ANY of their pancakes and Señor Peanut (toast with peanut butter and dulce de leche).

Amazing cafe near the Rhine River. Limited outdoor seating, but the inside was comfy and full of character. Food was beautiful and delicious. I had the smoked salmon toast with poached egg and escarole, which was a well composed and filling breakfast. I was hungry enough to also get the French toast with fresh fruit and Nutella cream, which was hearty and sweet. Latte with Hazelnut sauce was tasty and visually appealing. Great service, the waitresses were patient with tourists and willing to explain the German menu (the names of most dishes were in English, but descriptions in German). Highly recommended for a artful breakfast at a great value.

Leider dauert alles immer noch recht lange. Auch reagiert das Personal bei Unstimmigkeiten schnell patzig. Hier ist noch Luft nach oben! Bisherige Rezension von 2019: Speisen sehen sehr lecker aus und sie sind etwas exotischer, man bekommt diese nicht überall. Die Preise empfand ich persönlich als recht hoch. Was mir, bei nun mittlerweile drei Besuchen, aufgefallen ist: Das Personal habe ich persönlich als jung, unstrukturiert und gleichzeitig auch richtig patzig empfunden. Ich hatte das Gefühl, ich würde durch meine Anwesenheit als Kunde, die "betrieblichen Abläufe" stören. Die Wartezeit empfand ich persönlich extrem. Sowohl das das Aufnehmen der Bestellung, das Bringen der Speisen als auch das Nachordern von Getränken angeht. Die jungen Leute, die dort arbeiten, erschienen mir persönlich eher so, als wäre dies eine private Veranstaltung als ein öffentliches Café. Freunde und Bekannte der Kellner-/innen wurde gedrückt, geherzt und lange Gespräche geführt. Und natürlich auch schnell bedient. Ich selber musste, wie bereits beschrieben, lange warten. Das Café ist meiner persönlichen Meinung nach, eher etwas für sehr junge, zeitlich ungebundene Menschen und nur bedingt für Menschen jenseits der 30 zu empfehlen. Aber da sind Geschmäcker verschieden, was man an den vielen sehr guten Bewertungen sieht.

Nice space and good for a quick snack. However on busy times they send wrong orders to wrong tables, forget orders or just take a century to bring it. I had good opportunity to observe the chaos on the ground floor today as i was waiting for 45 minutes for an espresso and an empanadas. It was not the fault of waiters as they were clearly frustrated as the customers. When inquiring, the manager told me that he forgot to log in the order with a face as if it was my mistake, giving an impression of distinct displeasure and sending a bizarre yet clear message of expecting an apology. Overall a great experience if you would like to pay to get abused by a manager-Monty Python style. Edit: I enjoyed the reply but it is completely made up. Maybe not...
