Strandhaus — Restaurant in Bonn

We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary there recently. We shared three starters - GEEISTES TOMATEN-PAPRIKA-SÜPPCHEN, CARPACCIO VON MARINIERTER WASSERMELON and both were very good. We found the TERIAKI VOM AHRENHORSTER WALLERFILET extremely salty. As for the mains I had LAMMCARRÉE and my husband the SEMEROLLE VOM KALB 60/180. He ended up helping me with the lamb as I was quite full from the appetizers. We both thought the lamb was excellent. Funny the restaurant is called Strandhaus when their meat dishes outdo their seafood. As for the desserts, we went a bit overboard and suffered from the huge portions. This was an extraordinary experience, both food and service. We arrived way too early, in the rain, before the restaurant opened. We were warmly welcomed inside anyway, seated, and offered mineral water, multilingual menus, and the wine list to review until the staff had eaten and the restaurant formally opened. Then it was pure magic... six courses... plus amuse... each one interesting and inventive. Enhanced with a terrific local Pinot Noir. The service was attentive, but not hovering. Mitten in Bonn, ein wenig versteckt, aber dafür sehr ruhig, liegt mein derzeitiges Lieblingsrestaurant. Das Strandhaus wirkt beim Betreten der Räume schlicht, hell, modern, aber trotzdem gemütlich und einladend. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend, hier fühlt man sich wirklich umsorgt. Dabei finde ich die lockere, entspannte Art der Mitarbeiter/innen sehr entspannend. Kein Frack, kein Lackschuh, kein "Diener" und kein "Knicks", sondern ein schwarzes T-Shirt und eine dunkle Hose, ein freundliches Lächeln und ein ernst gemeintes "Sehr gerne!".

Ich war mit meiner Freundin schon im Ausgeh-Dress (kleines Schwarzes + Anzug) und im Straßen-Outfit (Jeans + Bluse bzw. T-Shirt) Gast im Strandhaus - und beide Outfits passen in den Laden, mit beiden Outfits ist man gleicher Maßen willkommen. Mit meinen Kolleg/innen haben wir schon mit 6 oder 7 Personen im Strandhaus "gefeiert" und wurden perfekt umsorgt.

Das Essen ist wirklich lecker!! Ich empfehle das 6-Gänge Menü, nach dem man gut gesättigt, aber nicht überfressen ist und das mit ca. 65-70 € pro Person (zzgl. Getränke) mehr als fair kalkuliert ist. Dafür muss man dann aber auch gut 2 Stunden Zeit mitbringen.
