Feldmann's Bierhaus — Restaurant in Bremen

Very sad to say that a young man working outside in the biergarten (beer garden) area tried to steal money from me. When I first went to order a beer I asked if they took card. He said yes, but then I had to stand there for 10 minutes with the card machine supposedly not working. Eventually he said sit down and come back later and pay. When I came back after my drink he said card machine was working again and that it was €7. I pointed to the prices sign that said €6 and asked was it not €6. I knew and saw that customers were getting €1 back when they returned their beer glass (pfand-deposit) which I returned directly to him, but did not let him know I knew. His response when I asked is it not €6 while pointing at the sign was "That's wrong". He said the price on the sign was wrong and that the beer cost €7. Pure lie and clear attempt to scam me. When I went back to him and questioned him he very rudely said "You never asked me for the euro back!" even though he already clearly lied by saying the sign was wrong. When i asked for his name so I could speak to the manager he got aggressive and said "why do you speak to me like this and ask me my name?!"

I spoke with the manager and explained I did not want the €1 back but that it was about the principal and questioned about how many other tourists and locals does this man try to cheat daily while working.

She completly agreed with me and was kind enough to give me a drink as an apology.

However, there was no apology from the man in question although the manager said she would speak to him later.

Hopefully after all of this he will learn his lesson and not steal from...

We came and hung out for the Portugal-Slovenia match, which was very exciting and made for a great atmosphere. We had dinner and some beer as well. The food was decent, but unfortunately one of the staff members got unnecessarily angry at me twice for asking to order and then asking where the bathroom could be found. Once I did get directions to the bathroom from another staff member, the sink didn’t work. Our waiter was mostly fine, but he made a weird comment about ordering a beer with lemonade/alster beer (aka shandy) and said it was a women’s beer/driving beer?? The woman in our party didn’t order it, but other 2 people did…It was a weird and...

This is a nice place to have a late dinner. I ordered Matjes (smoked fish) with onion and potatoes, that is still in season in the beginning of June. The fish was past its time as it had doo many bones and the onion was not as sweet as it can be. Potatoes were good with a nice crisp outside and soft inside. The bacon used for the potatoes however was not sorted highly and contained cartilage. So, why did I give 4 stars instead of 2? Because the service was good!
