A disastrous experience at El Gaucho

Our evening at El Gaucho was absolutely dreadful. From the very beginning, the service was alarmingly disorganized: 30 minutes of waiting just to get our drinks, and that was after three reminders!

When the starters finally arrived, we were only given knives, forcing us to eat with our fingers because the restaurant clearly lacks staff. To make matters worse, we had ordered a melon with Italian ham, but the melon was completely unripe and inedible.

Then came the main courses, and things only got worse. For a restaurant that specializes in meat, this was a disgrace: not a single dish was cooked to the correct temperature. The ingredients may be decent, but if you don’t know how to cook meat properly, you shouldn’t be in this business.

As for the sauces, we were told, “Don’t choose any, we’ll offer them to you.” In the end, we had to eat without any sauces at all.

On top of that, the dishes were served in a completely chaotic order: first two, then another, and finally the last one—meaning one of us had to eat alone.

The lack of staff is painfully obvious, and the owner only bothers to intervene when you raise your voice. Totally unacceptable.

This restaurant does not deserve its current rating. Avoid...

First of all I am Argentinian, second i work in Gastronomie. I arrive to the restaurant that smell like rancid fat. The Waiter wasn't even able to open the wine bottle correctly. He didn't poor the water nor the wine. Our appetizer, four Empanadas, arrived swimming in rancid oil and they reeked of it. The meat was actually good. The Very special Gaucho salad for 13.50 EUR was nothing more then a mixed salad with corn and one artichoke from the can. The morcillas and chorizos were completely dry. The fries arrived when the meat was almost completely eaten and they were obviously made in the same old oil as the Empanadas... rancid! The desert was OK,but I can't recommend this place to anyone, it puts a bad light on Argentinian cuisine. We mentioned this to the Waiter and he didn't care. This place certainly does not deserve the label "authentic," because there is nothing...

Am gestrigen Tag hier gewesen. Gute Lage direkt ein Parkhaus nebenan. Aussensitzbereich, aber nicht im Winter benutzt. Wir haben per Internet vorreserviert weil man sonst erst ab 21h oder später einen Tisch ohne reservieren bekommen kann, laut Kellner. Der Laden verfügt über eine Bar und verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten. Unser reservierter Tisch war nicht sauber gehalten. Kellner wirkte nicht grad begeistert aber auch nicht unhöflich sondern einfach resigniert. Wir bestellten. Die Karte finde ich außer den verschiedenen Steak Angeboten nicht sondergleichen ansprechend. So viel Auswahl wie es für andere Gäste beim Alkohol gibt sollte doch auf schöne Salate und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis wert gelegt werden? Schade. Ebenso die anderen einzelnen Vorspeisen regten nicht so das Interesse. Als Tipp: verschiedene Dips Gemüse Obst schöne Salate das wäre nett. Wir bestellten die Beilage Knoblauchbrot mit Kräuterbutter und Dip was eigentlich bei der Vorspeise stehen sollte. Ob’s ein Knoblauch Brot war kann ich nicht sagen es schmeckte wie normales Brot und war kalt. Die kröuterbutter war auch nichts besonderes so bekomme ich sie auch hin. Das Rip Eye was wir bestellt hatten war dafür super schnell da( das eine halb durch das andere durch). Es kam zeitgleich. Leider machten wir den Fehler und bestellten beide dazu Zwiebeln oben drauf die eher Matschezwiebelm als Bratzwiebwln waren ABER ich denke das heutzutage die Küchen das nicht mehr stark anbraten dürfen nur auf einzelnen Wunsch wegen der Krankheitsgefahr. Also wenn man Zwiebeln dazu mag dann auf einen separaten Teller bestellen und mehr anbraten lassen. Die Folienkartoffel dabei war klein mit der Kräuterbutter vom Brot davor befüllt Preis Leistung für eine kleine Kartoffel naja ... Steak war ganz in Ordnung. Keine besondere Würzung. Perfekt aber gebraten. Danach bestellte ich ein stilles Wasser nach und trotz mittelmäßigem Besuch würden wir von 2 Kellnern im Laufe der Zeit wiederholt gefragt ob wir ein Wasser bestellt hatten als wir unseren Kellner wieder erwischten lehnten wir das immer noch nicht bekommene Wasser ab und fragten nach der Rechnung die auch auf sich warten ließ. Alles in allem lohnt sich für uns hier nicht noch mal ein Besuch. Schade aber man muss ja Erfahrungen sammeln. Ps: die Frauentoilette war nicht gerade sauber es gab auch nur zwei keinen Wickelbereich also für Kinder nicht zu empfehlen. Männer Toilette haben wir nicht...
