Enchilada Köln — Restaurant in Cologne

Total disappointment. We went to the restaurant hoping to try some good Mexican food in Cologne. When we arrived for lunch, the place was almost completely empty. Once the waiter came, it took a million years to get our drinks order right, he clearly did not know what he was doing and couldn’t handle the two tables that were occupied. Next, we ordered the entrees and our main course, it was, as it is anywhere else, heavily implied that the entrees were supposed to come out first. However, the waiter said that the other food was already made, and asked if he should take it out. We obviously declined the offer and started with the entrees. When he brought us the main course, the burritos were stone cold. Apart from this, the burritos were no burritos, they had absolutely nothing to do with Mexican food and just tasted like overpriced ‘healthy’ wraps. Additionally, the waiter serves me ,a vegetarian, a chicken burrito, which is simply unacceptable. I trust waiters at a restaurant to serve me food without meat in it, and usually just bite in without giving it a second thought. Making a mistake like this is fine. Nevertheless, not rectifying nor apologizing for the mistake is not OK. One of the people who came with me got a burrito with spoiled avocados in it. She couldn’t continue eating her burrito, and yet, the waiter never asked if everything was fine with our food, not even after seeing the barely touched burrito, when clearing out our table. We had ordered one round of drinks, since they were extremely overpriced for what they were, and still, our waiter came around claiming we had ordered another drink. We denied this claim and not two minutes later, did the bartender or owner come around trying to force us to take the drink again. We declined. After the horrible service and food, we decided not to stay for dessert and asked for the check, where we realized that they were, once again, trying to make us pay for a drink we did not order nor drink! Because of the hostility in the way they handled the situation with the drink, we didn’t actively complain about the bad burrito. However, the waiter should’ve made sure that our food was up to restaurant standards. As a person who has worked in the industry, this type of behavior is simply unacceptable. While the customer isn’t always right, the people running and working in this restaurant act as if the staff were always right. I make mistakes as well, but I ensure that my customers have a good experience and I rectify my mistakes. The same cannot be said for the staff in...

Ok, I'll admit this review is going to be pretty salty. When the food is this bad, I just started keeping a list of everything that annoyed me.

Oof the food was terrible, super sweet, super salty.. like American food pretending to be Latin food. But at least our server was very nice.

Chimichuri chimichanga - it was ice cold inside. Sent it back and got it back microwaved and chewy. The jack fruit tacos had lettuce that was going bad and overall it was super sweet and not very good. Super oversalted french fries. Like crazy amounts of salt. McDonald's would be ashamed. My corona was warm. The bartender was swearing endlessly. just like "f this and f that"....not that it's a super terrible thing but, like I said, I just started keeping a list of stuff that annoyed us The limeade in their margarita made it super sweet and gross. No beans.... At a Latin restaurant... Like what is this place even? They gave us a little kids coloring set, yay! But then the pencils were so bad you couldn't actually color on the waxy paper of the coloring book.

The decor was nice, our server was very friendly, and when we complained about our food and asked to have the chimichanga taken taken off the bill, they offered us tequila shots on the house. Ok, very cool. But then when the bill came the chimichanga was still on it. After some negotiating, the chimichanga was reduced by 50%.

At the end of the day, it was 100% not worth the price. Just go to a different restaurant. Especially if you want Mexican or Latin food, there are better options...

It´s a little complicated. I went there with a friend, and ordered the chicken Fajitas. She ordered Tacos, and they arrived in a normal time. My Food looked fine but more on that later. My friend got the wrong order, which had Prawns in it. As she is vegetarian this was a Problem, otherwise she would have just ate it. We called the waiter and he apologised, saying he would bring the right dish. We asked if what was served to us was going to be thrown away, and he said yes. He then went to ask his boss what to do about this situation, and came back stating that he could only make it cheaper by 1.50€, which judging the total price of 10€ isn´t exactly generous. The waiter was very friendly saying if it was up to him he`d just let us eat it and bring the right dish on top, but he has no choice. So we ate the dish. To my food I can say, it was fine, but the Price isn´t quite what i´d call appropriate. Priced at 18.50€ the amount of food was a little disappointing, and only a mere mediocre.
