Five Guys Burgers and Fries Köln Schildergasse — Restaurant in Cologne

I would like to write this comment with disappointment . I went to the ROMANIA-GERMANY football match on Saturday night in the city of Koln, and after the match ended I wanted to go eat something. only that at 00:40 only BURGER KING and FIVE GUYS were open. I want to go to FIVE GUYS for the first time and I wanted to try their food. to my dismay, I was totally shocked by the fact that it was very dirty on the floor and the employees were literally floating through fries. I ordered a bacon burger, a side of fries and a beer. I want to tell you that the potato portita was served in drinking glasses. a portion of potatoes costs €5.20 for 10 slices of potatoes. I counted them all. I paid 5.20 for 10 slices of potatoes. euro. God forgive me! how embarrassing! in addition to paying, I gave the cashier a €100 bill and he gave me a receipt saying that he only received €50 from me. totally false. by the way! for a burger and a beer and for 10 slices of potatoes I paid €21.75. I asked the employee why he did that and he looked at me like I killed him. he started to get angry and turned his back on me. without respect. I attach pictures here. disgusting. Good: • custom selection of free toppings for the burger • A lot of flavors for soft drinks • Free refill • Unlimited mayo and ketchup from a dispenser • real potato fries • A lot of extra fries in the bag • Good music selection (hip-hop, rock, rockabilly, pop) • Nice 90’s American burger joint aesthetics

Not good: • meat is overcooked and dry (patties are too thin) • fries are limp • a lot of unnecessary waste - even if you eat there everything comes packed in a paper bag, burgers wrapped in tinfoil • waaaaaaaaay too expensive: regular burger + regular fries + soft drink ≈ 18-22€ I’m sorry, but that’s worth a regular dinner at an actual restaurant including service. Definitely the biggest downer of five guys.

Das erste Mal Five Guys und durch Zufall wenig los und keine Schlange, also nichts wie rein. Das Personal war ausnahmslos extrem freundlich! Super! Haben mir genau erklärt wie es geht. Gut: Burger selbst zusammenstellen. Schlecht: man sollte nichts vergessen. Habe mich für einen kleinen Cheeseburger und kleine Pommes mit einem Getränk entschieden. 5-6 Minuten später war alles fertig. Irritierend: ich hab vor Ort gegessen, aber es gibt keine Tabletts. Burger in Alu eingepackt, Pommes im (beschichteten) Becher, alles in braune Papiertüte, Getränkebecher in die Hand. Damit hab ich mir einen Tisch gesucht (könnte öfter mal drübergewischt werden, vor allem wenn nicht viel los ist), musste mein Essen stehen lassen und zur Selbstbedienungstheke gehen für Mayo (gut: selbst wählen wie viel und kostet nichts extra) und Servietten. Becher kann am Getränkeautomaten nachgefüllt werden und es gibt die verschiedenstes Geschmacksrichtungen.

Hab unten gesessen und es hat gestört, dass ständig laut die Nummer der Bestellung gerufen wurde, die gerade fertig geworden ist.

Der Burger: hmm, also irgendwie war der nichts. Schwer zu essen, quoll alles an der Seite raus. Die untere Brötchenhälfte war total schnell durchgesuppt - unterwegs hätte ich das „auf der Hand“ nicht essen können. Portion war auch als „Little“ echt groß genug. Der Burgerpatty hätte für meinen Geschmack mehr Salz vertragen können. Die Pommes: wirklich grandios. Neben den Pommes im Becher werden wohl noch immer zusätzliche in die Tüte getan. Super. Auch sehr kross und klasse vom Geschmack. Die frischen Kartoffeln kommen durch und gut gewürzt sind sie auch - ich hatte nur Salz, ginge aber auch mit zusätzlichem Paprikapulver. Habe die Portion auch nicht aufessen können, weil viel.

Toiletten sind im Obergeschoss. Das hallt da oben wie in einer Bahnhofshalle und ist recht ungemütlich. Tische und Stühle und Kacheln in rot-weiß. Toiletten sehen so aus wie in allen Schnellrestaurants.

Der ganze Spaß hat rund 16 Euro gekostet. Trotz frischer Kartoffeln vom Gefühl nicht so wirklich wert für das Gebotene in meinen Augen. Aber nochmal: tolle Mitarbeiter! Doch vor allem, wenn es voll ist, muss das wahnsinnig stressig sein dort zu essen. Für mich also nichts. Muss...
