We choose: hummus, felafel (so cruncy!), soup of the day (really tasty with lentils and spinach), abugannuc (chopped aubergine with other fresh vegetables) and then the top of meal (in my opinion): grilled lamb ribs, perfectly medium rare cooked, tender with some crunchy parts. Besides having a lovely, warm and welcoming host, the place itself adds up to the cosy oriental atmosphere which takes you somewhere else; the music and the drinks are enough. Then, the food arrives - expressive, tasty, to the point of such supreme delicacy you've never encountered before made up of fresh ingredients one never thinks of putting together. We went there twice while in Köln and both the meat and the fish were outstanding. Ask the host to suggest the right wine to accompany your meal.... You won't be disappointed! The food puts a modern and flavourful spin on the traditional cuisine - be aware that the food is very spicy (in the herbal sense). The personnel is very warm and welcoming, giving the place immediately a family atmosphere. The mezze dishes are small as they should be, allowing you to savour a wide variety of food.
