Wo fängt man hier an? Vielleicht chronologisch mit Betreten der Lokalität: Gleich nach dem ersten Schritt war ich von der ungewöhnlichen Holzkonstruktion beeindruckt. Den Bau konnte man auf Instagram verfolgen, in der Realität ist es noch beeindruckender. Sofort stellt sich ein Gefühl der Behaglichkeit ein, begrüßt wird man von freundlichen Barkeepern, die einem die Getränkekarte (natürlich mit Hardcover aus Holz!) überreichen. Die Drinks klingen, zugegeben, sehr abgefahren, sind aber hervorragend abgestimmt und im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes köstlich. Wem die Kreationen nicht zusagen (man sollte sich in jedem Fall beraten lassen, die Jungs verstehen ihr Handwerk), kann man auch auf Klassiker setzen (ein Old Fashioned geht immer). Nachdem man einen Drink bestellt hat, kann man sich durch die wirklich detailverliebte und geschmackvoll ausgewählte Inneneinrichtung ins Staunen veresetzen lassen. Das Ambiente könnte besser nicht sein. Sauberkeit und Stil setzen sich selbst auf der Toilette fort (und wir sind immer noch im Friesenviertel). Ich hoffe ich schaffe es noch dieses Jahr in den Genuß des fassgereiften Negroni zu kommen. Zusammengefasst: Großartiger Laden, sympathische und kompetente Barkeeper, spannende Kreationen, unbedingt empfehlenswert. Das Woods ist angenehm klein, deshalb ist eine Reservierung sinnvoll. Wer in der Nähe ist, sollte dennoch spontan einen Versuch wagen. Für mich steht das Woods nicht nur für reines Handwerk, sondern auch für Cocktailkultur, wer insbesondere in hübscher Begleitung im stilvollen Ambiente etwas Besonderes genießen will, sollte einen Besuch...
