Ong Bui Asia Fusion - Dortmund — Restaurant in Dortmund

I recently visited Ong Bui - Sushi & Asia Fusion in Dortmund and I was blown away by the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.

The sushi rolls were incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, the flavors of the Asian dishes were bold and authentic, the taste and the presentation of the dishes were visually appealing and it left me wanting for more. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly, attentive and made me feel welcome.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and modern, it was perfect for a romantic dinner or a casual night out with friends. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and the service provided. I was impressed by the variety of options on the menu, it caters to everyone, whether you're looking for a classic sushi roll or a more unique and creative dish.

I highly recommend Ong Bui - Sushi & Asia Fusion, it's definitely a must-visit restaurant in Dortmund. We had lunch here on a Thursday in July with a part of two. There was a lunch menu with a free drink or soup of the day included and we could order from the dinner menu as well - we opted for the latter. We could comprise our meal from the sushi menu and the starters and main courses and it was fabulous. The taste, the plating, the colours, the way the sushi got served on a rotation platter with a tub of gastronomic smoke in the center. It was good fun. We are used to some different kinds of sushi so we really enjoyed to see some different ingredients in there like bell pepper, arugula, cream cheese and - as you might have suspected by this - we eat vegetarian and had LOADS of options. I just want to start by saying that I don’t like leaving bad reviews, however today’s experience wasn’t what I had hoped for at all and I was very shocked seeing that this was a well rated restaurant. Getting right into it we ordered a couple starters (spring roll & summer roll) and 2 mains (coconut curry & Japan udon). Staff were really kind and the starters came out pretty fast (roughly 5mins) which was great, tasted amazing and portion sizes were good. Sadly this is where it starts to go wrong, the raw lettuce that came with the coconut curry was covered in bugs (probably aphids) which in my opinion is completely unacceptable, I lost my appetite instantly. It doesn’t take a minute to wash a piece of lettuce and this also could also mean that none of the other ingredients are being washed which is disgusting.
