L'Osteria Prager Carrée — Restaurant in Dresden

Food was great. Portion sizes are out of this world. Risotto was great. However, toppings on the pizza were a bit stingy.

Service however was absolutely abysmal. From our first step into the restaurant, we could tell that the waiter did not want to serve us. He also took a very long time to come to our table after acknowledging that we were ready to order. The restaurant was quite empty and lot of other staff members were chatting amongst themselves.

When we were paying, I provided exact amount but the waiter refused as he said the restaurant does not accept 1 and 2 cent coins (I had provided a 20 cent coin, two 2 cent coins and one 1 cent coin, so four coins in total; hardly excessive). So I took it back and provided a 50 euro note for a bill of 27.25. He went onto say he did not have enough coins to provide change and short changed us. He practically threw the inadequate change onto the table and walked off. He did not provide the option to pay by card, or even by how much he short changed us. It was 15 cents. It was not about the money. His unfortunate attitude left a sour taste in our mouths as we left.

I am now fond of L’Osteria Prager Carrée. I visited there already for three times. Maybe I’ll go again.

It is a bustling Italian restaurant in the heart of Dresden, just off the Prager Straße. The pizzas here are impressively large approximately around 45 cm (may be), and topped generously; split‑half pizzas are available and a smart choice if you want to try multiple flavors. It was great mistake to enter in this restaurant. We ordered one pasta with chicken and one veg pasta with vegan chicken. The order was taken by one waiter but was served by another waiter. The another waiter bought our order but gave chicken pasta to my friend who is vegetarian and ordered veg pasta with vegan chicken despite of confirming two times. After eating we realized that it was wrong meal for us. Instead of accepting mistake both waiter attacked us and even didn’t apologized for their mistake. Later they made us wait for next 20 mins to pay for our bill. I want to address this incident to manager of this restaurant and take strict action against these rude and disgusting two male waiter. I didn’t wanted to make any issue because we are on vacation and didn’t wanted to spoil because of this situation. I highly do not recommend this place in beautiful city Dresden.
