Food was alright. Had the Tonkatsu ramen. Pork was good, got a big chunk of what I assume was pork belly with it which was fantastic but the broth was ok at best and the noodles tasted and looked like instant ramen noodles. Gyoza was also very good. Wish the menu was a little more descriptive but that could also just be a ‘me’ thing as I’m not the most experienced with ramen shops. All of these things I can look past if it wasn’t for the apathetic service. Dinner time I expected a little wait at the door (2-3 minutes max is what we waited) which is perfectly fine. Looked like a small restaurant from the outside so, alright no big deal. Went to the upstairs portion and it seemed like the people working didn’t care if we were there or not. Got our food, ate and went to pay. Now comes probably the biggest issue in my eyes: payment. Most places accept card or cash, some only cash and some only card which is fine. This place only accepted debit. But not just any debit. Only a specific debit card. Visa didn’t work as it does most anywhere else. They only accepted a special kind of debit card, that neither myself or the table next to us, had. Which ok, fine. A business can determine how they want to accept payment. The issue lies with the fact that it’s not stated ANYWHERE in the building, only at the payment part of eating here. It would have been one thing if on the door it said “cash or _ only” but it didn’t. I only found out when trying to pay, only to find out that I had to leave the restaurant to go to an ATM and get cash to pay, because they only accepted a very specific form...
Read moreThe boss (the man taking orders) and the service lady were rude, passive-aggressive, and even racist toward Chinese speakers/Asian language speaker — absolutely ridiculous.
My German friend and I were traveling in Dresden. We checked in at the hotel next door and came here for a quick lunch. My friend speaks fluent Chinese, so while ordering we naturally switched between English German and Chinese, and asked a couple of questions about dishes in Chinese (since the menu even used Chinese pinyin).
In the middle of our order, the man suddenly walked away without a word, then started yelling at the waitress in another Asian language (Cantonese? Vietnamese? not sure). After quite a wait, the lady finally came to take our order. When we continued speaking in Chinese, she cut us off, saying: “We are not Chinese, we don’t understand.”
Excuse me? We never said you were Chinese. We were simply speaking the language that makes us comfortable. But her tone and attitude were clearly dismissive. If she knew enough Chinese to make that remark, then why the attitude? But anyway me as friendly Chinese, i was quickly change to English and be the one to say sorry(even she is the sorry one, but her attitude was flying)
No wonder the hotel receptionist warned us not to come here. Instead of patience, they looked down on us. Ironically, their English/German was still spoken with a strong Asian accent. An Asian restaurant with a racist attitude towards Asian — not a welcoming experience at all.
The ramen itself was overpriced and not worth it. Definitely not...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible nightmare of dining! It is a fake Japanese restaurant run by Thai staff. The Tekkadon is the most expensive dish but it taste horrible. First, it is not a real japanese Tekkadon at all! The traditional one should be raw tuna fish on sushi rice. Now they use the name of Tekkadon to serve you with well cooked fish on the hot rice without adding any sushi vinegar. The fish is way too hard to tear it and the seasoning is disaster, way too salty. I cannot understand why even the avocado could also be warm. Also taste salty because it is full of the salty sauce. It is the worst dining experience in my life. The relatively tasted good is the rice. And yes, the best thing in this Tekkadon is the rice for what you paid for 14.5 euro. Second, the service was awful, all the staff was there and no one say anything to you, you have to take a seat yourself. Later on there was a couple coming in say hello, also no any one was answer to them. Third, you will eat your meal with the very strong cleaning smell in this restaurant. Absolutely disgusting.
I highly NOT recommend people to go to try their low quality Japanese Food. In term of Food, Service and Atmosphere, they got a straight ZERO mark for...
