I went based on the reviews and even though I went with high expectations, I wasn't disappointed and went twice in three days. If you like meat, this is the place for you and the only one in town that still has a licence to cook with charcoal. The staff is very friendly and kind. I was on my own on a business trip and on my first night, even though I went quite late (after 23:00) I was still welcome and because the place was getting empty, I had the chance to chat with the waiter. I ordered the entrecote and I was amazed. Such a tender and easy to chew meet. I could cut it like butter and that made the experience amazing. The main plus a couple of drinks for less than £25€ and the waiter served me another drink on the house. The service is quite fast and the complimentary bread with a sauce makes your waiting time very enjoyable. The place is quiet even when there are more people and I loved the rustic old style decoration. Don't miss this place. I can't wait to go back to Düsseldorf for another visit to El Lazo! I will...

We have been coming to Duesseldorf for medical exhibitions for the last many many years. And we always had dinners at various restaurants in the old town area. We were always pleased despite the long waiting line and some time not so good service, we understood the wait staff were busy when there wereexhibition in town. It is part of the tradition to have dinner in the old town area. Lazo steak house was our stop this year and disappointed was a huge understatement. We had a very nice young waiter to start with but somehow we had an older waiter and he claimed he worked in the place for 20 years. He was RUDE and his attitude took the apple... and he DEMANDED a tip... he verbally insulted us when we decided not to leave him any tip... because we believed he didn't deserve any. Be choosy where you spend your money... we spent about $400 and for sure will not...

Nice Argentinian meat place. Very decent prices. Great lunch menu. Had an Entrecote with fries. Meat was good. Fries were standard. Came with small standard salad and bread. Service was mostly kind, however- I ordered a drink, and asked also for a glass of tap water. I got my drink and an open bottle of water, and found out in the cheque that it was mineral. When asking the waiter about it, he said they don't serve tap water by policy. So one point off for the policy, and another for not saying it upfront, but sneaking it into the cheque. This left a bit of unpleasant taste, as for the attitude. Other than that - a very good meal with great VFM.

had one of the best steaks of my life at this restaurant. Of course, in general, you shouldn’t expect top-notch service from hotel or restaurant staff in Germany, but this place was an exception. Two young guys work here, and they were extremely polite and kind. However, there was also a middle-aged man who I honestly wished hadn’t come to our table—he seemed a bit drunk and wasn’t exactly pleasant. As a starter, they brought us some bread with a savory, herbed garlic butter that was absolutely amazing. Other than that not-so-friendly waiter, everything else was excellent. So, if you’re planning to visit, go for the food—not the service. 😎
