Although I never stayed in Hotel Alt Dusseldorf I did visit the cafe bar called Cafe La Luna as my twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of town and what a great find. |Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here,a light and airy interior with great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe bar, just a wonderful bar to unwind in. |We were here on a Saturday night, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each,we opted to have an Altbier, these were served in excellent condition we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great cafe bar we were in.|I really enjoy Dusseldorf's famous Altbier, it's a dark, mellow ,malty beer that when served iced cold is such a wonderful and refreshing beer.|We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this cafe bar |Cafe Bar La Luna is part of the Hotel Alt Dusseldorf, most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area and easy to locate along Hunsrueckenstraße. |Well...
Read moreWe were originally booked into the Rheinblick round the corner. Advised by email that we were now staying at the AltD but meet at the Rheinblick. We were not impressed by what we saw, shabby and steep stairs. We were then met and taken to the AltD. Very friendly helpful staff and we were given a room on the top floor overlooking the bars. The room was a good size and comfortable easily accommodating another bed or cot. Having arrived early we were able to dump our kit and get into town. Said kit was looked after and there is a working lift albeit jerky. The beds were comfortable but despite double glazing it is noisy on weekend nights, but only what we expected. The breakfast was a joyous surprise, very well presented and plenty of it with good quality coffee. We spent a total of five nights there and are going back in December, if that's an indication! Having read other reviews; there is an elevator and the water was always hot. It is not five star but we did not return to Dusseldorf to admire the room.||In summary location, location and very good value for money with...
Read moreBooked a hotel room through their official website, did the online check in as requested and arrived to find the reception was closed and no one was answering the phone / the whatsapp number that was previously messaging me on their behalf. My friend who had booked a room for the same night through booking.com went through a similar experience but they left a key for his room in a lockbox outside the entrance. After countless emails back and forth they admitted they had oversold the hotel and didn't have any rooms available. To this day they have stopped answering my emails and have not refunded me. I had to find another hotel on the night as they left me stranded. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They are here to steal your money with no second thought. This place deserves to...
