L'Osteria Düsseldorf Flughafen — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

The staff are overly rude, boorish, ill-mannered. The waitress asked us for the vaccination card before even saying hello, directly in the corridor of the airport, while we were deciding to stop there to eat. We decided to stop, the short time and lack of options forced us to stop there. So with a pizza you can hardly make mistakes.

Nope, Big mistake.

The waitress, the same one who took our order, brought us the wrong pizza. We pointed out her mistake and she laughed at us saying we ordered this very pizza, lying in our face.

Shocked by that scene (there were 2 of us and we both repeated the order) I waited for her to come back. She looked at us asking what was there and I told her the pizza was wrong and she was being really rude. She walked away saying it was our fault.

So we explained the problem to a second waitress, She said she couldn't do anything about it. We asked to speak to the owner or manager and were told she was not on site.

We didn't have time to wait for the police, we would have missed the plane, so we left.

The pizza was miserable, large proportion, as expensive as in any airport, the topping was of poor quality.

Places like this should be boycotted and put out of business. It is unforgivable that such things happen.

A story that I would never want to repeat...

"Meet me and feed me". I cannot remember where I heard this sentence anymore but it sure applies to my visit at tje L'Osteria at Düsseldorf airport. I have never felt so ignored by staff at restaurants in my whole life! They don't greet the guests, I sat and saw the staff passing by me without even bothering to look at me for almost 15 minutes before I could place my order, and that was I simply stopped this passing by man and told him that I wanted to order. Another 15 minutes passed by before he brought the cutlery and to tell me that the beer sort I ordered was not available. So after almost 40 minutes of my arrival I got my ordered pizza and substitute beer. The pizza was simply DELICIOUS! I was surprised to see that the original beer that I have ordered was still on my check instead of the actual one I got. I was quite surprised that waiter did not apoligise for this mistake, did not even apoligise for the waiting time and last but not least did not thank me for my visit or even say good bye. Our party of 3 ordered a spaghetti pomodoro, a pizza caprese, grappa, a tartufo, cappuccinos and a cafe americano. The pizza was excellent. Amazing crust with fresh toppings all joined to a near perfection. One of the best I've had outside of Italy. The grappa lo chardonnay was also a pleasant surprise; whiskey-like, and still undeniably a spirit from grapes. The cappuccinos and americano tasted full-bodied. One of our group remarked on the nice hint of nuttiness from the roasted coffee beans. The tartufo looked less slickly artificial than most I've had in North America. The taste and texture felt like something a talented family aunt would make. Delicious! My whole crew was pleased with the staff's service.
