Located in a side street just 60 steps away from the busy Heinrich-Heine-Allee subway station on the doorstep of the Old Town, this hidden gem looks like a serious contender for the title of "the smallest house in France". Do not hesitate to pull the door behind the blue sign proudly sporting the name of an all-time French favourite. Step inside, and you will be greeted by the inhabitants of the lobster tank and by the ever-friendly, smiling chef performing high-class culinary magic which will blow your senses tonight. The atmosphere is almost that of a drawing room, with just a few tables - ideal for a romantic night out, a catch-up with friends, or even biz talks. The quiet French retro music transports you into the century that knew no smartphones and invites you to focus on the person opposite, and, of course, on the exquisite dinner cooked with devotion and served with love. The food amazes fish fans on many different levels: its variety, high quality and freshness, along with the expert preparation, creates a fantastic experience that you will be coming back for. Well, we...

Spectacular hidden gem at the edge of the Altstadt. The food was sheer perfection and the service was top notch. We shared the scallops to start and they were accompanied by caramelised chicory and a light curry sauce with apple that was simply to die for. The scallops were cooked perfectly.

I had the lobster pasta for mains and it was absolutely gorgeous, with big chunks of perfectly cooked lobster and fresh Chanterelles in there as well. Sublime sauce.

Himself had the chef's composition which consisted of several types of sautéed fish and seafood with the most incredible mashed potatoes.

If I had one complaint, it's that the wine list could be a bit broader with a range of prices.

Service was amazing: attentive, friendly, professional. He had the added task of running off crowds of kids that gathered outside McDonalds which he did with grace and wit. It was dinner AND a show!

The place itself is very cool, it's tiny, one chef in a tiny kitchen doing everything himself and so well.

We will definitely be back. An absolute...

I just made a reservation today for one person. I came to the restaurant at 19.00 pm and the waitress(woman) showed me my table after checking the reservation book. She gave me the menu and it was German. I asked her” can l have an English menu please”. She was said immediately “no” but she was angry to ask her an English menu. I said that l do not speak German and l could not understand anything on the menu. She was hanging around and helping to other customers because l am sure that they were German and they speak German. I waited around 15 minutes and even she did not look at my face and come to my table to help me. I was very angry and left after 15 minutes. I do not recommend to anyone to go to this restaurant. She is very rude and not charming. I am sure that she is racist. Definitely not Recommended. Go and find a nice restaurant and there are a lot...

Pretty safe to say the food here was one of the worst I’ve ever had in Düsseldorf. Combine that with their price tags, I would say this could be one the worst restaurants you could choose if you actually expect good food 😹😹😹 🥘 Every dish was overly salty, from starter, to soup, to mains. My tastebuds took a quick swim in this Dead Sea they gave us and then completely passed out 💀 🔔 Service was non existent but also EXTREMELY SLOW 🤦🏻‍♀️ Imagine waiting for long minutes then being served with almost inedible dishes 🙃 And they don’t even give you enough baguette to fill up with 🤣🤣🤣 I’m really curious how they got a high score on Google. But the more important question would be ⚠️ How can anyone make fresh seafood taste so bad?! 😂😂😂

Cosy resturant in the crowded Altstadt. The staffs are kind and helpful. It was the first time I was going there with two others, and the waitress asked us if we want some tips, we folllowed her suggestions and I have no regret 😁! The quality of the food was excellent and all the meals were quite tasty, it worth the price. The kitchen is small, so depending on the orders you may wait a bit, (I stress that again the food worth the qait). And to my opinion while you are waiting, enjoy a bit of wine with some tasty appetizer. The cook was kind too, we had a small chat with him, when his shift was over, and he offered us grappa. I will definitely go back there when I'm in Düsseldorf.
