Le Bouchon — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

One of the worst restaurants ever. They are Prejudiced. It was so odd for us to be treated as Indians when we were Sri Lankans that live in the U.S. Our friends took us there and we wanted to be courteous for our friends so we did not say anything back.

The man who served us came to our table and started nodding his head saying Namaste. We told them we are not Indian. He still laughed and ignored. The menu was in German and he did not explain it to us saying we should speak German coming to Germany. It was so rude and i have never been through such a racist and unwelcoming place in my entire life.

Because he doesn't understand much English, I asked do you have steak as i didn't know to say beef or steak or what! Then he said this is a high end restaurant and they do not serve steak! :P i was staring at the menu so upset and angry and wanting to tell the man off but did not as a courtesy to our friends.

He asked me to move my plate and did not want to answer questions and kept being so rude. Coming to a restaurant to have a good time but had the worst time ever and such a bad experience.

First of all even if we were Indians he has no right to treat any human like the way he did. I have dined at many michellin guide/ star restaurants and the food is not even comparable. The food was ok.

Samstag Abend eine gemütliche Unterhaltung, ein wenig leckeres Essen und dazu einen tollen Wein. Das Le Bouchon fällt mir sofort dazu ein und so wird es dann auch gemacht.

Das Karussell der Szene-Da-Musst-Du-Hin Läden hat sich bestimmt schon zwei mal am Le Bouchon vorbei gedreht und so trifft man hier vom Geschäftsmann bis hin zur hippen Liesel immer mal wieder die Gesichter, die man zu den ganzen Neueröffnungen und Must-See sieht.

Die Karte ist relativ klein, wird ein 3- oder 4- Gange Menü angeboten, jeweils mit Fisch oder Fleisch als Hauptspeise und dazu gibt es korrespondierende Weine.

Mit dem kleinen Gruß aus der Küche und einem meist freundlichen Kellner startet man in den Abend, der hier gerne mal ein wenig länger dauern kann. Für eine kleine Schlemmerorgie sollte man das nötige Kleingeld bereit halten, denn um wirklich Satt zu werden (halloo, wir haben hier eine Französische Küche mit vielen kleinen Türmchen und chi-chi) benötigt es doch wen wenig mehr.

Was mich auch hier zur Bewertung von 4 Sternen veranlasst, denn ich bin der Meinung, offene Küche toll, leckere Weine - ja, da gebe ich gerne Geld für aus, doch mit einem Menü bei knapp 60 Euro p.P. möchte ich nicht danach noch schauen, wo ich das nächste Essen her bekomme damit ich nicht hungrig in die Nacht gehen muss.

Fabulous Valentine's meal. Each course was more delicious than the next. Dessert was a complex perfection that combined textures and flavours in a way that made your mouth sing. Service was impeccable- professional, attentive, friendly, proactive yet unobtrusive. The wine pairing was excellent and explained well, although the portions were on the small side.
