Great new spot in Pempelfort. Elegant without being pretensious. The outside sitting area on a quiet green plaza is perfect for Summer. Mediterranean, fresh, well seasoned food. It's a short menu, which is always an encouraging sign. Less things usually mean more attention to detail. We had the tomato salad with burrata as a starter. So generous it could be a main dish, as well. As mains, we had the steak and a special of the day. Balanced flavours and textures. Only comment is that both were very rich (I would probably cut on the sauces - a steak with chimichurri, meat sauce, cheese on top of the polenta and a rich ratatouille were delicious, but a bit too much). What a beautiful place! The atmosphere was lovely and cosy and the service was perfect - they are a super friendly and attentive team. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. We had the garlic bread and arancini for starters (amazing flavours!), then the risotto and penne all'arrabbiata (fresh and delicious!), then a delightful crème brûlée for dessert. The staff and the owner were really friendly and cared for the quality of their service and food. The atmosphere was cozy. The food was ok, the pasta was a bit too salty and the arabiata a bit too spicy for our taste but that is a personal taste. The deserts (crème brûlée and chocolate soufflé) were really tasty.
