Bombay Haus Erlangen — Restaurant in Erlangen

I ordered via delivery the Papdi Chat, Kadhai Paneer and Jaipuri Bhindi. The Okra was good and authentic as I’ve had before in India. The Kadhai Paneer was also good, it was not too spicy and very flavourful.

However I think the rice they served with it was day old, reheated because the grains were a little dry, not characteristic of steamed rice of the current day.

The Papdi Chaat was not what I’m used to— I’ve had it mostly as the veg and sauces layered on an intact paapdi. Each preparation is different so thats alright but there was too much tamarind sauce in the mix. This could be a human error but in the case it’s not, I would recommend a lower quantity of tamarind. I tried to balance it out with the green chutney but it seems to be a pre-bought sauce with mint extract rather than fresh mint so it felt a bit like toothpaste.

I really think Bombay Haus has potential to be one of the authentic Indian restaurants in Erlangen if they make their mint chutney for chaat in-house and make sure the rice is not drying over the day. It is not a delivery issue since I’ve had rice delivered from many other places and it’s can be very fluffy. I won’t be ordering again soon but I hope the next time there is more emphasis on freshness and in-house making...

Excellent food, quality and service! One of the best restaurants in Erlangen. We are super fond of their cream of palak soup (we had sore throat the first time, so asked for a special version of cream of palak which tastes heavenly), papdi chaat. Cheese burst paratha and Paneer lababdar were also very good! And the review is incomplete without mentioning their amazing service 😍 They have been maintaining the consistency since the last time we had the soup, so it's really commendable! Overall a really good Indian restaurant in Erlangen! Highly recommended!

I had an incredible dining experience tonight at Bombay Hous! It was my first time enjoying truly authentic Indian cuisine in Germany, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, richly infused with the vibrant Indian spices we all love. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
