Kitzmann Bräuschänke — Restaurant in Erlangen

My friend and I arrived on July 16 at around 7pm. We were discriminated against by a tall waitress who wore a black mask and black leggings. Her service attitude was extremely rude. First of all, we waited over 20 minutes for her to come over and order, during which time I raised my hand several times to signal her and I'm sure she saw me, but she ignored me. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't due to the busy work of the restaurant, because everyone who arrived later than us she had already served.

Then, when we ordered, she very aggressively told us that we MUST order beer before the main course and that it is strictly forbidden in Germany to order a main course and beer together. So, we had to order beer at her "request" during this round. I thought that this is how she is supposed to do her job, so I didn't take it seriously at the moment. However, when I saw her serving the other white people, she was very nice and always had a smile on her face. The people at the neighboring tables also ordered main courses and beers together.

Third, we drank beers for 20 minutes, during which time I gestured to her several more times to order the main course, and she still did not come.

In the end, I didn't order any main course, got starved, paid for the beer and left.

As an Asian who has been living in Germany for three years, I found this very offensive. First of all, I was disgusted by the way she treated the Asian guests differently than the European guests. I have never seen a waitress with such a bad attitude. I have also never heard of the rule that you must order a beer before you order a main course.

I hope the manager of this restaurant will read my message. I also hope that any Asian reading this message will never visit this restaurant. Let's fight together against racism!

I stumbled upon this amazing place in Erlangen and loved its relaxed vibe. The staff were super friendly, and I felt welcomed right away. I didn’t have to wait for a table, which was great. Tried their Aperol, and it was the best I’ve had. A must-visit for Aperol fans. We also tried their bock Bier, Keller Bier, and Weißbier—all amazing. To eat, we ordered spätzle, which was delicious. Can't say enough good things about this place! Service was great from the get go. Restaurant was packed but they found us a place alongside a German family, and they were both friendly and helpful the entire evening.

Foodwise, any typical Franconian dish, they have it, and they do it to perfection, but the pork shoulder, as their specialty, is simply amazing!

Oh yeah, don't forget to try the Strudel, haven't had one like this in...
