SEN Bar — Restaurant in Erlangen

My personal rating is 4 stars. It does not mean that the place is bad. It is my top 2 sushi in Erlangen, but I cannot give the same rating as to the top one. Now it is time for a long review with comparison. Recently I spend entire salary in sushi restaurants and this is the result: 1 HiroSakao - fancy 2 Sen - relaxed 3 Gingo - cheaper Long:

Sen: nice and cozy. Check is not more than 20-30 euros per Person. Relaxed atmosphere of a tapas bar. Tasty. Good sushi. But simpler than HiroSakao. Good choice if you like much sauce or slightly fatter sushi. Drinks are sweeter than others (I don’t like sweet, but this is my subjective opinion). Swimming boats with dishes are interesting. It’s NOT “all you can eat”. Reservation is necessary.

HiroSakao: with price slightly higher than Sen it is a fancy restaurant with fine and most sophisticated sushi. Less fat and sauce, more ingredients. Less sugar in drinks. Usually very busy, reservation is really necessary. They give tables only for one and a half hour.

For my sushi-loving friends in Erlangen: this restaurant is a surprise find for me. On a Friday evening, as I was declined out of Salt and Pepper, then out of Hiro Sakao, I wondered into this one. Surprisingly nice decor, and a little river full of sushi boats! Picked up a plate of raw salmon, good texture and very fresh! No complain on this one. Then ordered "thai Pearl"-- duck breast in thai curry: tasty, very Thai (enough Thai for non-Thai's, I guess), by this point, already enough meat/food to stop a very hungry me. Will come back, with friends (to share those tasty-looking little plates of appetizers- most seem for feeding...

Amazing Ramen bowl! We are a frequent visitors of this establishment since they have amazing sushi (could argue it's better than Hiro Sakao), great, quick service and running sushi (our kids love that the most), but when they start offering Ramen bowls we had to try it out. The verdict? It's Amazing! The flavours, authenticity and presentation...all 5 out of 5. They told us they will have even more options to...
