Sadhu — Restaurant in Flensburg

I was really excited to come here with my partner because we love Indian food and we saw lots of good reviews and there are only two other Indian restaurants in Flensburg. So we saved our hunger just to enjoy the meals from this new restaurant. I rarely give reviews and giving bad reviews does not sit right with me, but our personal experience was really terrible. We reserved our table a day before but when we came, we had to wait a bit for a table. Not only that, we waited 20+ minutes to be given the menu. When we finally was able to order, we had to wait so long! It doesn’t stop there, we had to wait again for our drinks that took 35+ minutes. There was a table next to us that came exactly at the same time as us, but their food came 40 minutes before us! It was unbelievable. In the end we had to wait almost 2 hours for our main course food. We ordered this food package for 2 people (appetizer, main course, desert). The appetizer came first and the period waiting for the main course was an hour. At the time the food came, our drinks were almost finished because we were starved.

I feel bad still for being brutally honest for the review, the food was okay, I prefer the dishes from the two other Indian restaurants in Flensburg if I had to compare. I can understand that there were many guests, the restaurant is very spacious which is a great thing, but shouldn’t a load of people be anticipated with more staffs?? I don’t think having the restaurant full and busy to be a justification for really long delay of food! My partner and I came to the restaurant at 19.00 and we went home at 22.30! We were starved and at some point while waiting for the food we even thought if we should just leave and find a quick meal because the food took so long to come and the staff did nothing whatsoever to comfort us or to at least inform about the delay of the...

A Disappointing Experience at Sedu

My brother and I dined at Sedu, an Indian restaurant in Flensburg, yesterday, and were left underwhelmed by the experience. Notably, the food lacked the spice level typically associated with authentic Indian cuisine. Having traveled to India and indulged in its rich culinary heritage, I was expecting a semblance of that authentic spiciness, which was unfortunately missing. It’s common in Indian restaurants outside India, especially in Europe, to inquire whether patrons prefer their dishes spicy or mild, a courtesy we were not extended, leading us to anticipate a more authentic experience in line with the glowing reviews on their website.

Additionally, one of the beers we were served was off. When we raised this concern, the response was defensive, with the staff insisting that such an issue was impossible since they clean their lines weekly. There was no acknowledgment of our dissatisfaction, nor an apology, which would have been the appropriate and customer-friendly response. Instead, my brother’s subsequent review addressing these issues was met with public rebuttal, sticking to the same rhetoric about their cleaning practices and dismissing our experience.

It’s worth mentioning that even with diligent cleaning, beers can still turn bad due to various factors such as contamination, oxidation, or issues with the beer batch itself. A simple acknowledgment of our experience and an apology could have sufficed, rather than an insistence on the impossibility of our claim.

While I hadn’t initially planned to write a review, given my brother had already expressed our concerns, the restaurant’s choice to publicly discredit our experience compels me to share our side. Positiv+++ +Die Fleischqualität des Hähnchens beim Chicken Masala war sehr gut. +Die Atmosphäre (auch wenn die Kerze erst auf Nachfrage angemacht) worden ist war ganz nett. +Die Getränke kamen schnell +Kellner nett +Leckeres naan Brot

Negativ--- -die soßen in den Speisen haben sich bis auf den Schärfegrad bei meiner Schwiegermutter und mir nicht unterschieden -die soßen waren eher fad. Ich fand sie im Vergleich zu anderen Indern zu schwach gewürzt. -vorspeiden kamen nicht gleichzeitig -keine Nachfrage ob man noch etwas trinken musste --sehr lange Wartezeit aufs Essen -nervige zu Laute musik (lag vllt auch daran das wir zu nah an einer Box dran saßen.

Warum ingsamt drei Sterne nun im Detail:

Wir waren zu 3 zuzüglich unserem 1 jährigen Sohn dort. Leider mussten wir auf das Essen über 1 1/2 h warten. Was die geduld unsere Kindes sehr auf die Probe stellte und wir schon überlegten das Essen zum Mitnehmen zu nehmen. Die hatten die pakora Vorspeisenplatte bestellt und ich hatte gesehen das dieses Restaurant scheinbar auch papdam mit 3 verschiedenen soßen als zusätzliche kostenlose Vorspeise serviert. Als dann aber nur das pakora kam dachte ich das man das extra bestellen musste. Bei den Platte gab es leider nur eine für mich nicht wirklich passende rote asiatische Soße. Nachdem dann die Platte fast alle war kam plötzlich doch das papadam mit den drei Soßen die ich gerne auch mit dem pakora kombiniert hätte. Das war dann doch etwas enttäuschend. Wie die getränke neigten sich dank der langen Wartezeit immer mehr dem Ende und selbst als dann die 1. Leer waren und man ständig direkt an uns vorbei gelaufen ist musste ich einen Kellner stoppen. Das Essen kam dann endlich alles zur gleichen Zeit war aber geschmacklich aufgrund der soßen die es ja im Endeffekt ausmachen eher langweilig. Bei meiner Chicken Masala war dieses viel viel zu süß und 1 zu eins die gleiche die auch meiner Schwiegermutter bei einen völlige anderem Gericht gereicht wurde nicht halt bei mir wesentlich schärfer (auf meinen Wunsch). Das Butter naan Brot war sehr lecker. Das lasse süß war wiederum weit von süß entfernt ansonsten geschmacklich okay. Leider hatte dieses Inder kein bhatura.

Alles in allem war es okay aber ich bleibe dann doch lieber bei dem anderen gut bewerteten Inder und muss sagen das die ganzen guten Bewertungen anecheinend keine großen Erfahrung in der indischen Küche haben.
