Lollo — Restaurant in Freiburg im Breisgau

We went there for brunch and had their eggs benedict and pancakes. It is a popular place on the weekends and we were fortunate to be able to sit inside. On nice days you can also sit outside even in the fall. Eggs benedict with smoked salmon was good. I was surprised that it truly was only the English muffin (3 pieces), poached eggs (two eggs), smoked salmon, sauce hollandaise, and a few herbs on top. No sides or anything else. Considering that I thought it was a bit pricey for almost 13 Euro. The pancakes were with blueberries and bacon and looked delicious. Unfortunately, they were prepared on a dirty grill and you tasted everything that was cooked on there before. Always used a separate pan for pancakes so they do not take on other food's flavors. We would probably not order the pancakes again. All the other food people ordered looked delicious and fresh. We will probably go back to try some of the other food, like...

Please read that coment. Firstly i have no doubt that the food was really good. My boyfriend and I were there yesterday. I am from Spain and I’m learning german. I tried to tell all what we wanted in german and I told to the waiter that. When they got me the bill the blond girl (waiter), she showed me only the price of the dinner (not the ticket with all the food that we ate). The price was 58,70 € what was really extrange because we were only two people. So we paid but then we were really confused because of the price. Then i came in and I pleased ask for the ticket because I wasn’t agree with that. I asked to another waiter for the ticket and she gave me the real ticket and it was just 33€. So it was more than 25€ less!!! I dont know if it was a mess or only they thought that we were silly because we are turist and they could cheat us.

Früher waren wir oft und regelmäßig im Lollo. Vor kurzem also wieder mal dorthin. Nettes Ambiente in einem rel. kleinem Raum. Die Begrüßung der Bedieung folgte die Ansage, dass unser Tisch bis 20 Uhr gebucht sei. Wie bitte? Das war uns nicht bewusst. Diese mittlerweile grassierende Unsitte, nur noch Timeslots zu bekommen, finden wir persönlich schlecht. Auf Nachfrage beschied uns die junge Dame (etwas kurz angebunden), es ist viel los und wir sind immer gut ausgebucht, deshalb die Slots. Auf der Website wird auch ersichtlich, dass es diese Timeslots gibt, wir aber reservierten telefonsich. Da wurde uns das nicht kommuniziert, wir wären sonst auch nicht gekommen. Zum Essen: Die Burger waren in der Vergangenheit immer gut, vor alles das Rindfleich, sofern man es denn mag. Die Pommes als Beilage auch. Die Preise sind wie überall mittlerweile in Regionen vorgedrungen, die sich auf Dauer viele nicht mehr leisten wollen oder können. 17,50 für ein Cheeseburger ist schon ein Wort. Meine Begleitungen wählten "Pommes Poutine" für 11,00 Euro. Es sind Pommes mit Käse überbacken, mehr muss dazu nicht gesagt werden. Auf belgeitende Salate verzichten wir aufgrund des Preises von 5,60 bewusst. Das steht einfach in keinem Verhältnis zueinander. Das gilt aber nicht nur für das Lollo, sondern für viele andere Gastronomien auch. Geschmacklich ist am Essen nichts auzusetzen, aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass die Burger etwas kleiner geworden sind – das mag aber auch täuschen. Insgesamt ist das Essen ok, aber das Preisleistungsverhältnis u. M. nach nicht gut. Zum Service: ist ok, aber sehr bemüht, zusätzlich zu verkaufen. Noch ein Salat, noch ein Dessert oder Kaffeee. Das ist insbesondere nahezu unverschämt, wenn die Frage gut 15 MIn vor Ende des Timeslots gestellt wird. Auch der Hinweis 10 Min vor Ende des Slots abzukassieren ist einfach unmöglich, weil es danach für den Service sonst zu stressig wird. Ach was, aber der Gast hat damit keinen Stress. Wir haben zu zwei etwas über 80,00 Euro dort gelassen. Für uns war es das leider vorläufig mit dem Lollo und wir werden das Lollo auch nicht mehr...
