CODOS Altona — Restaurant in Hamburg

POSITIVE Very good coffee of high quality Nice atmosphere and kind of modern look and feel, not just another shabby chic style cafe you find everywhere these days

NEGATIVE The cakes are a big flop, seriously. We had an orange almond cake and a brownie bite. The orange cake was very bitter and somehow not tasty at all, the cream cheese frosting on top did not help in correcting the taste. The brownie bite tastes like it has been made of very old remaining stock of poor quality Xmas chocolate. The chocolate melts to a sand like consistency in the mouth. I'm very disappointed, especially because of the huge price tags of the cakes (brownie bite 1,50€, orange cake ~5€).

Ich besuchte kürzlich das Codos Cafe und war insgesamt enttäuscht, obwohl das Café einige positive Aspekte bietet.

Ambiente und Lage: Das Café ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet und bietet eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Die Lage ist ebenfalls sehr angenehm, was es zu einem potenziell großartigen Ort macht, um sich zu entspannen und eine schöne Zeit zu verbringen.

Service: Leider war der Service das größte Manko meines Besuchs. Die Bedienung war desinteressiert und unfreundlich. Es gab keine Begrüßung, als Kunde ist man unerwünscht. Ich stand mehrere Minuten an der Theke, ohne dass jemand nach meiner Bestellung fragte. Es wurden keine Vorschläge gemacht. Ich bestellte einen Capuucino, welcher auch ok war, und einen Kaffee mit Hafermilch, die einfach kalt hineingekippt wurde, ohne zu fragen, ob ich sie warm oder kalt wollte. Der Kuchen schien schon ein paar Tage alt zu sein. Die Mitarbeiter unterhielten sich lieber über ihre Dates in Anglizismen, anstatt sich um die Kunden zu kümmern, die den Umsatz bringen. Für unseren Baby wurde Kein Kinderstuhl angeboten, wie denn auch, wenn die Mitarbeiter an Handys spielen.

Es ist wirklich schade, dass der schlechte Service das Erlebnis im Codos Coffee so negativ beeinflusst hat. Mit freundlicherem und effizienterem Personal könnte dieses Café wirklich ein Juwel sein. Leider werde ich aufgrund des enttäuschenden Services nicht...

Starting back in 2014 CODOS now is one of the best coffee places in Hamburg Altona - with already three different places in Hamburg, and one in Berlin as well. Delivering finest Barista arts with their own roasts they also serve cakes and stuff.
