Grand Cafe Back-Lava GmbH — Restaurant in Hamburg

The food was fine but expensive. The service was awful. I never had such a bad experience in any restaurants in Germany. You just can't expect any service from them. The waiter was rude, aggressive, and pathetically liar.

We went there in late afternoon to have cakes, tea, and coffee. The waiter took the order without any care. The order came very late. During the payment, the main story began, I gave him a 50 euro bill. My bill was around 12 euros. He took the money put it into his wallet, and then he returned me the change of 8 euros instead of 38 euros. I told him that I gave you 50 euros, but he kept insisting that I gave him 20 euros. Although my friends also saw that I gave him a 50 euro bill. Then he went to check the CCTV camera, and returned with anger. He said that the CCTV camera is not working but he will return the rest of the money. He returned the money with anger and utter disrespect.

I felt very insulted in front of my friends. So, I asked the waiter to call his manager and he replied that he is the manager. I was telling him why he is behaving so aggressively, it was his mistake and he should apologize. In the meantime, another guy (with a different uniform) came and said that he is the manager. I was totally confused at that moment. Whom should I believe? This guy was keep saying that you got your money, so it's okay. He was not even listening to me. I was heartbroken. Update on 06.2023: Unfortunately, i am seeing the trend going somewhere else. My favorite cake slices i.e. mosaic cake is not anymore what i had four years ago. Its rich texture is gone and it is more like a biscuit filling. It feels i am eating a stack of bland biscuits within some hints of chocolate. 😣😣😣 I am disappointed. I tried it 3-4 times since then and every time it is not the same. Hence i ll reduce one star. The waiters are also super busy and at one occasion i wasn’t clear about menu and got the wrong order, but was forced to take it. It all seemed to be pushy. I had loved Baklava but now what is going on with it saddens me.

ZERO STARS!!! I was on 11.05.22 around 8:41 at „Grand Cafe Baklava“, ordered a Simit and large Cay after I got up to take Baklava to home, the unfriendly female waitress with black hair meant that I must pay Simit and Cay separately from the Baklava, I said ok, I wanted to pay the Simit and Cay cashless with EC card, but that was not possible, because they accepted cashless payment at minimum 10€, how backward is that please??? She was so unfriendly, she said the store would also run so good bla bla bla, very stupid of her to discuss with the customer!!! Completely unprofessional.
