Luicella's Ice Cream Lange Reihe — Restaurant in Hamburg

This is a great ice cream place featuring a good selection of vegan choices! We shall surely be back for more. The selection of tastes is a good mix between old favourites (vanilla, chocolate etc.) and interesting new creations. Raspberry and rosemary was our clear favourite, it wasn't only novel but also super delicious and the tastes well balanced. We also were given a free taster flavour on top of the ones we bought. Different sauces and toppings are available if you want to spice it up, but we went the purist route. There is a colour marking system on the taste labels to inform you which ones contain lactose, gluten or are vegan. The staff get extra points for being friendly and helpful. As I chose only vegan flavours but the home made waffle cone, they let me know there was milk in the waffle mixture so it wasn't a vegan choice. So thoughtful! If you fancy taking some ice cream home there is a whole fridge filled with 500 ml tubs of various flavours. If your favourite isn't available pre-filled, they will just scoop it from the display selection and you can even take a mix of flavours home that way. There is outdoor seating to enjoy your ice cream and get off your feet for a spell. An awning provides some shade on sunny days. And if your company isn't into ice cream (their loss!), they can choose from a nice selection of hot and cold...

I have had ice cream at Luicellas since they opened their first store at St.Pauli. I keep coming back to have the occasional scoop whenever I want something sweet. I would love to give them five stars, given that it is a rather small business thats at the same time creating interesting variations of ice cream. Unfortunately, even though I do have a rather sweet tooth, I always end up with at least one scoop that is just too sweet. Today it was pistachio with chocolate chips. To me there was no discernible flavor of pistachio. The deluxe chocolate was very good, as was the vanilla. I also liked the homemade waffle. Texture wise, I am not the biggest fan of their recipe. Still, solidly executed, so if you want something sweet go for it. I wouldn’t come here for the ice cream, but if you are in the neighborhood it’s a good...

This is absolutely the best gelato in all of Hamburg!! Every flavor always taste so fresh. They have tons of unique flavors and they rotate new flavors in about once a month. So their are always new flavors to try out. The scoops are a generous portion (unlike other places) and it is reasonably priced. They also allowed you to add a very small "free sample" scoop on top so that you can try a flavor without having to pay for a whole scoop. Sometimes there is a line but it is ALWAYS worth the wait. They also have lots of seating available inside and outside and they are right across the street from the St. Georg park. A perfect place to eat some incredible gelato and relax at the park with some friends. 10/10 gelato shop! I will be there more often...
