The manager, Ondrej, was very rude and unreasonable. It is his way or the highway, there is no scope to discuss matters reasonably. I was meant to attend the restaurant on Christmas Day with my girlfriend but I fell ill with food poisoning and spent Christmas Day and the following day terribly ill in bed. It was a horrible Christmas. We called Ondrej on Christmas Day to cancel the reservation hours before we were due to be there. On the phone Ondrej never mentioned the cancellation fee, nor offered for us to eat at another time or for my girlfriend to come and pick up the food because she was not ill. Regardless, Ondrej charged us €50 pp for a €65 pp meal we could not eat. Ondrej was dishonest. We tried to ask for the fee to be waived or reduced because of my illness and Ondrej was not receptive. We wrote a long list of reasons and he ignored them. Ondrej is also a hypocrite because of the justification he gave to another patron, Mi Schwarz (who left a negative Google review), to explain why the restaurant had to cancel their reservation (eg, his staff were sick). Ondrej employs arguments that suit his financial interest (eg, my staff are sick so we had to cancel your reservation at the last minute with no compensation) and then will reject those same arguments when his patrons try to explain their special circumstances (eg, I was suffering from an illness which meant I could not attend). He does not care what reason causes someone to be unable to attend, he will simply charge them a cancellation fee which clearly far exceeds the cost incurred by the cancellation. Unfortunately, Ondrej probably lacks empathy. I would strongly recommend not to eat here because you would be supporting management who is unprofessional...

Absolutely fantastic restaurant with the most amazing brunch. We celebrated here the day after our wedding with our friends and family and from start to finish everything was perfect - easy communication, excellent service, nothing was too much trouble, they totally understood what we wanted and created a special vegan and vegetarian brunch buffet - our guests were blown away and so were we. Boat rental right downstairs also a huge bonus - we will definitely be back when we are visiting Hamburg. Das Stüffel ist seit langem ein Geheimtipp für Feinschmecker und Freunde frischer Küche, die aus besten regionalen Produkten auf hohem handwerklichen Niveau zubereitet wird. Der Besitzer Ondrej Kovar ist ein erfahrener Sommelier, der viele Jahre in der Spitzengastronomie gearbeitet hat. Sein Konzept beste regionale Produkte schnörkellos perfekt zu günstigen Preisen anzubieten, hat in Hamburg und Umgebung viele Freunde gefunden. Durch den Umzug nach Eppendorf hat sich am Küchenkonzept des Restaurants ebenso wenig geändert, wie an seinem Namen und der Qualität der angeboten Speisen und Produkte. Die gebeizte Gänsebrust mit Spitzkohl Kimchi und Majonaise vom schwarzen Knoblauch überzeugte durch Geschmack und Konsistenz - das war allerfeinste Qualität perfekt zubereitet. Die gefüllte Poulardenkeule mit Kokospolenta, Pak Choi und Korianderöl war zart, aromatisch und saftig (!) - dem Koch ist es gelungen die Keule auf den Punkt zu garen. Das Kotelett vom norddeutschen Apfelschwein war der Beweis dafür, daß regionale Produkte verantwortungsvoller Erzeuger eine Qualität besitzen, die mit importierten Premium-Fleisch mithalten kann. Das Kartoffel-Boskoop-Püree und der Röstzwiebeljus ergänzten das wunderbar schmeckende Fleisch perfekt. Die unglaublich leckere Soße war sensationell gut und zeugte vom Können des Küchenteams - das war großes kulinarisches Kino. Herr Kovar hat für jedes Gericht den passenden Qualitäts-Wein im Angebot. Das Stüffel ist weiterhin ein Empfehlung für Freunde erstklassiger Küche, die zu angemessenen Preisen in modern-lockerem Ambiente genießen wollen. Eppendorf hat nach der legendären "Küchenwerkstatt" endlich wieder ein Wohlfühl-Restaurant...
