A mix of hits and misses, but overall, a satisfying experience that reminded us of home.
We tried several dishes, each with unique elements.
Papas Rellenas:
The purée was plain, with no seasoning, feeling like just mashed potatoes 🥔. Traditionally, papas rellenas have meat mixed with onions, but this one had only meat—though there was plenty of it. The sauce wasn’t that good since it was spicy 🌶️. The salad wasn’t really a salad; it was pebre (onion, tomato, and cilantro 🧅🍅🌿), but it gave the dish its much-needed flavor when combined.
Beans, Rice, and Protein Dish:
This dish was exactly what I had been waiting for! The beans were amazing, the rice was well-cooked, and the egg with a runny yolk was a highlight 🥚🍚. I liked the variety of two types of protein and the addition of farofa, which was good. The portions felt a bit small, but the flavors were spot on and brought back memories of Brazil 🇧🇷.
Causa Limeña:
The avocado 🥑 was abundant, both on top and inside the dish, which was a delight. I appreciated that it was served at room temperature, avoiding the fridge-like feel that’s common with this type of dish. The purée was very well-seasoned this time, and the portion size was fitting. There was also plenty of chicken, making it fulfilling. Overall: The food had its ups and downs, but it was satisfying and nostalgic, reminding both of us of home.
Jalea Mista mi Barrio: It was not tasty at all , extremely greasy and it did not feel fresh at all, avoid this one!
Bisteca al pobre: The carne was tender and the fries were on point (and real one, not refrigerated!). The portion was good , with a nice fried egg on top.
Getting there Located near Berliner Tor 🚉, this Latin American restaurant is easy to access and worth a visit for a casual meal.
Tips for a better visit 🥑 Try the causa limeña for a fresh and well-seasoned experience. 🍛 Go for the beans, rice, and protein dish for a taste of Brazil. 🌶️ If you don’t like spicy food, ask about sauces before ordering.

Read moreGood food, great atmosphere, nice staff I was sceptical because the restaurant is (in my opinion) far from the city centre - but actually, one stop from Hamburg's central station by S-Bahn isn't very far away. The place is bigger than I had imagined and can host large groups and exclusive events. They show football games (preferably Latin American ones) and irregularly offer live music.
They have a number homemade drinks and vegan food choices. I had the vegan Empanadas with carrot and pineapple as well as the Platacones. Both very delicious. My friend had fish (Dorade) and we both were very satisfied with our food as well as with the attentive waiters.
I admit, we were there before 5pm, they hadn't even officially opened and thus the place wasn't crowded but a assume the politeness of the waiters stays the same. You can pay by card and the Latin American Music is very enchanting. Nevertheless, for people with sensitive ears it might be too loud.

Read moreThis restaurant will be a good fit for you if you want huge portion with lots of carb and protein. However if you want to dream about the food after having it, this is not the place.
The chicharron was crispy, but dry, very dry. The appertiser was so big that I couldn't finish half of my main dish (brought the other half home, of course). Bean stew tasted nothing special. Fried mixed seafood taste pretty fresh, with a wide variety of seafood, and looked like a mountain! Chili sauce was supposed to be "very spicy" according to the waitress, but it was pretty mild.
Inside of the restaurant feels more than a dance floor rather than a restaurant. It is pretty cold to sit there even with all the doors closed. I assume this place would be great for organizing events, as they already have a kitchen and wide range of alcohols.
The staff is really nice, and with the Taste of Hamburg coupon, it is...
