If you're searching for a delicious matcha dish or a matcha latte in Hamburg, Mimi's Crepes is the only place to go in town! The owner of the shop - Miyuki - prepares every crepe carefully and beautifully - and you can actually taste the throrough preparation! Every single bite is truly amazing and delicious and after one crepe, you really want one more! She offers a wide variety of sweet or umami Crepes. When I was in Japan and tasted the fragrant flavor of Marukyu Koyamaen first class matcha powder I always wanted to find a place in my hometown with a similar fresh and high-quality matcha. Miyuki's matcha drinks and crepes were very delightful with almost none bitter taste and a vibrant green colour so the matcha has a really good quality. The shop itself is quite small and the owner is making every crepe fresh for you so bring a bit time to relax and wait. But it's worth it!

My favorite (and only) Japanese crêpes place in town! This small cute shop is owned by a very friendly and nice lady who runs the whole thing herself. Sometimes her young daughter is also around to help. Price wise is really fair and definitely worth it. Mimi keeps her Japanese heritage well by the way she makes the crêpes as the way it is made in Japan. Very authentic and she puts a lot of effort to make the crêpes pretty and tasting actually heavenly delicious. The taste is exactly similar from what I experienced in Harajuku. Mind the opening hours as she usually open from Wed to Sunday, but sometimes she announces on the instagram if there’s any change. Also check on the specials each month, they’re very unique and will definitely make your day.

Mimis crepes add a nice flair to the gastronomy scene of Hamburg. It is well loved by cosplayers who visit Planten un Blomen in the weekend, and it might get quite busy then. The shop is run only by a woman, so it might take some time for your crepe tobe done. It is worth the wait though. The shop is small, and there are also not many seats outside (max 6). The crepes can be sweet or savory. There are also seasonal versions, which is really Japanese and I love it. Vegan whipping cream is also available. Come in winter and try her creme brulee crepe!

Most versatile Crepe choices in Hamburg; a venue where the guest can explore between sweet and hearty options of rich, velvety crepes filled to the brim with flavors such as matcha, creme brulee or curry to name a few. There are also seasonal creations or special editions like the Valentines Day Crepe. Though the venue gets packed on the weekends, there's a possibility to reserve the cosy back room with a japanese style heated table. The friendly owner Mimi makes you feel at home and you can watch her baking, decorating and carameling some of her creative creations with a torch. There's a stamping card system for the pancakes which is great for the frequent visitors....
