Trattoria Remo's — Restaurant in Hamburg

Not even sure where to begin. When we arrived they didn't have my booking but found us a table anyway. We ordered a starter for the table and asked to order wine. That's when it went downhill. We specifically asked for the house wine. When my friend ordered it, the waiter responded with "Lugana?". So of course she assumed that's their house wine. Usually the cheapest recommendation. However, when contemplating if we should order another bottle before moving on, another member of our group decided to asked for the name and price. We were told this was a 40+€ bottle of wine. Our entire group was shocked as we asked for the house wine. In an attempt to solve this, I went up to the waiter station where I was met by an aggressive waiter and a yelling (I assume) owner. The owner said "No worries, house wine price it is". Our waiter refused to accept this solution and continued to yell and claimed we ordered a different wine and have to pay for it. Then the owner had sudden "amnesia" and couldn't remember that he said we just pay the house wine. I continued to talk to the waiter and the owner became even angrier and said we can scrap the bill and not pay. Again, I didn't want the bill to be waived but simply pay what we ordered rather than double the price! After a lot of back and forth I was asked to calculate myself what we will be paying. Shocked but I did as I was told. The waiter was really aggressive and said because of us he has to pay this out of his own pocket. Horrible practice but I didn't back down. I didn't want the waiter to pay the gap but I'm pretty sure that's illegal anyway and he should change his job if that's the case. My friend went up to pay for us. Again the waiter tried to make him pay the bill including the wrong wine but I had already told him what amount was agreed on. The waiter continued to guilt-trip my friend by saying he has to cover the gap with his own money. Overall a really embarrassing experience. Other guests witnessed all of this. Seeing other negative reviews regarding the service, we were not the first to experience this sort of aggressive behaviour. Non of us will be returning and I'd recommend to avoid this place. The food was okay but not great. The prices are definitely too high. The cherry on top was the aggressive, abusive behaviour of the staff. Italienische Gastfreundschaft auf höchstem Niveau – ein unvergesslicher Abend

Ich durfte kürzlich einen geschäftlichen Abend mit einem guten Freund in diesem wunderbaren italienischen Restaurant verbringen – und es war in jeder Hinsicht ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis.

Bereits beim Betreten spürt man, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, und die Atmosphäre war von Anfang an warm, einladend und zugleich professionell. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Inhaber, der sich persönlich Zeit nahm, um uns willkommen zu heißen. Seine Präsenz, sein Engagement und die aufrichtige Freude am Gastgebersein machen den Unterschied – hier steht noch der Mensch im Mittelpunkt.

Die Bedienung war aufmerksam, freundlich und sehr gut geschult. Man merkte sofort, dass das gesamte Team eingespielt ist und mit Herzblut arbeitet. Unsere Wünsche wurden nicht nur erfüllt, sondern oft sogar vorausgeahnt – eine Servicequalität, die man selten findet.

Kulinarisch war der Abend ein absolutes Highlight. Die Speisen waren nicht nur wunderschön angerichtet, sondern auch geschmacklich ein Genuss. Frische Zutaten, handwerkliches Können und Liebe zum Detail spiegelten sich in jedem einzelnen Gericht wider – von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert. Die Pasta war perfekt al dente, die Saucen ausgewogen und raffiniert, und der empfohlene Wein harmonierte hervorragend mit dem Menü.

Das Ambiente war stilvoll und gemütlich – mit genau der richtigen Mischung aus Eleganz und italienischer Lebensfreude. Es war der perfekte Rahmen für einen Abend, der geschäftlich begann und in freundschaftlicher Verbundenheit endete.

Mein Fazit: Ein Lokal, das man nicht nur weiterempfiehlt, sondern in das man gerne wiederkehrt. Ein großes Kompliment an den Inhaber und sein Team – hier wird Gastfreundschaft gelebt und italienische Küche in ihrer besten Form zelebriert. Wir kommen mit...

A rather very disappointing dinner at Remo's. It was a our time here, we don't consider ourselves fussy but the level of standard here is below average. The pizza's here are of poor quality and you can really taste the cheapness of the ingredients. The staff's aim is to attract big crowds into the restaurant and move the small groups/ couples inside, reserving the tables outside for the bigger groups - I can understand, it makes the location more attractive.
