Giovanni Rocco — Restaurant in Hamburg

We were directed to their second location just next to theirs and it was delicious!

Probably one of the tastiest Italian meals I've had outside of Italy. The atmosphere was calm and it's a great place for dates or just to be able to have a conversation with not much noise, yet a special ambiance of a restaurant. If you sit in the back, you can look into the kitchen and see the Chef make your meals.

Prices were overall what you would expect from an Italian restaurant in Hamburg and the food was just worth every penny. If you like truffle, I can't recommend their truffle pasta enough.

The portions were amazing! If you like to eat and enjoy good food (and a lot of it), this is your spot. We did wate a while to get our food, but we were a big group and it was busy. I will definitely be back again whenever I'm in Hamburg.

A friend and I were originally meant to go somewhere else which was closed, so we stumbled across Giovanni’s and I’m so glad we did. Had such a lovely time here - the food was amazing! The first room was really really loud, so we were glad to be put in the somewhat quieter area. Our waiter looked after us amazingly - we were sitting for no more than 5 minutes and he brought us over two complementary glasses of Prosecco. Then, one of our main dishes was not the one we ordered, but he gave us the wrong dish on the house and still delivered the correct one. I was amazed by the outstanding service from this man! He also made us a complementary apéritif for desert which was delicious and the perfect end to our absolute feast…will definitely...

Once again we were pleasantly surprised by an amazing dinner. Admittedly we did look at the google ratings before deciding to dine here. Where do I start. The restaurant has a flair, a mix of Italian tradition and somehow cosy. Although when we phoned to reserve we were told it’s not necessary because it’s quite we found it to be well visited and by no means crowded. The food was amazing. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to take photos but they would not look any different from those that ate already posted here. The service was very good. The wine selection was limited but perfect 👌. I can only recommend this for anyone looking for a good meal in a restaurant where people still understand...
