Just wow! This place is a múst visit in Hamburg!
Even though it is located a bit West from Hamburg, it is definitely worth it to go here. The neighborhood is nice, I would even say a bit for hipsters, with graffiti on all buildings and some cool clothes stores.
Underdocks looks very like a hipster place, and their description ‘urban fish food’ is quite accurate.
If you want to try a fish brötchen like you never ate before, with a crunchy bread and amazing sauces? Come here! This is also the place to try something completely different, fish tacos!
At noon, between 12pm and 2pm if I am not mistaken there is a lunch menu. We took the brötchen menu and the taco menu. In the menu are also potatoes and drinks included, for just the price of 20 euros!
We took the backfish brötchen, salmon taco and a shrimp taco. What a taste of heaven in your mouth. This makes a shame out of the fish food near the harbour, seriously.

Read moreIn love with their sweet potato fries! It’s reaaally good!! It’s crispy but somehow tender as well.. well seasoned! Fried to perfection! We had it with truffle mayo dipping sauce, which was a great decision! Oh and their hotdogs (?) were tasty as well. We had the lax one (salmon) and the black tiger one. I like the black tiger one better.. the buns tho.. the buns win! It’s grilled to crispy but also soft and taste buttery and.. just good. But I’ll proly come again just for their sweet potato fries hahaha. And maybe try the fish and chips cause the fish looks really good in the picture.
We came here around 6PM and was quickly seated, but when we left, we saw huge line.. soo, plan your visit maybe :). Anyhoo, overall really nice place with good food, nice and friendly service (they gave us a complimentary shot which was nice)....

I was quite taken aback as we had just registered through their compulsory covid-19 form and was hoping to have a nice little drink, but after this we saw no other option than leaving. It's tricky to describe how all this went down, but as my company told me afterwards: 'That was a quick turnaround from really wanting to go to that place, to never wanting to go...
