A Gastronomic Odyssey at Zaytuna - Exemplary Syrian Cuisine.
I have had the pleasure of dining at numerous establishments around the globe, but my experience at Zaytuna has risen to the top of my culinary journey. This exquisite Syrian restaurant presents a unique, tantalizingly authentic Syrian dining experience that far exceeds expectations.
Upon entry, the warmth and charm of the interior sets the stage for a transcendent evening. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting, akin to being welcomed into a Syrian home. The tasteful decor perfectly encapsulates the rich and vibrant culture, the essence of Syria, which is reflected not only in the atmosphere but also in the food.
At Zaytuna, it's not just about the meal; it's about the art of preparing food. Every dish is meticulously crafted, with flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Damascus. From the succulent and perfectly spiced kebabs to the heavenly mansaf, each bite was a symphony of flavors, evoking a genuine taste of the Levantine region.
However, the standouts for me were the Makloubeh and the Fatteh. The former, a traditional dish with expertly cooked lamb, eggplant, and rice, was seasoned to perfection and incredibly flavorful. The latter, a unique concoction of chickpeas, yogurt, and crispy pita, offered a delightful interplay of textures that was both comforting and decadent.
A review of Zaytuna would be incomplete without mentioning the extraordinary service, led by Eihab and Mohamad. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care for patrons were nothing short of remarkable. Their intimate knowledge of the menu and the stories behind the dishes added a layer of depth to the dining experience that is rarely found elsewhere.
In closing, Zaytuna is a haven for any food enthusiast seeking an unforgettable Syrian dining experience. Their culinary mastery and unrivaled hospitality set them apart in the world of gastronomy. Zaytuna isn't merely a restaurant; it's a destination where every detail counts, and the love and respect for Syrian cuisine are palpable in every bite. I can't...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at Zaytuna in Hamburg. Our host Emmy was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. The fresh lemonade was refreshing, though a bit sweet for my taste. The cold and warm mezze were delicious and fresh, but house-baked bread would take them to the next level.
For mains, the Freekeh with lamb was outstanding and brought back memories of Syria — compliments to the chef! The Kibbeh Labanieh was good, though I personally prefer it cooked in yogurt rather than fried. The Makloubeh was flavorful, but the aubergine was a little oily. The lentil soup was also very tasty.
Prices are very reasonable considering the service, food quality, and generous portions. Overall, a warm atmosphere and authentic flavors — we’ll...
Read moreThe weather was cold and I was craving soup, and that's how I stumbled here.
I got myself the batata soup, description said Mediterranean flavors, and creamy potato soup with leaks...when I got the soup it was more like seasonal harvest soup.
Was it delicious yes, was it creamy ?Absolutely not.
I also ordered the falafel plate, this thing was huge. Their portions are more on the large shareable size, party of 4 would be more than full with 3 plates.
The falafel plate was delicious, but on the menu also said 'fresh baked bread' But the bread that they were serving was cold pita in plastic bag...nothing said fresh about that, this is why they lost a 🌟.
This place would be a great place if you are vegetarian, or even vegan.
Prices are about...
