Traditional German - how Grandma would cook it - cousine with tasty meat heavy dishes. This restaurant gives you an authentic feel for the time in the last century. The restaurant is decorated with lots of references to the former owner and founder Max Walloschke. A ringer who came from Breslau to Hannover. This alone gives you a reason to visit and step back in time. The food is delicious and you get quite big portions. Most dishes are meat centric and offer some potatoe variations and salad. The Eisbein was tender and juicy. Biting in to it I could not believe how soft the meat felt and how the fat melted on my tounge. The meat itself was falling of the bone easily. Combined with the mustard you could add extra bit of spice. The steaming warm Bratkartoffeln (roast potatoes) were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The amazing meal and traditional atmosphere made me think of lunch at my grandparents. Bring good hunger with you and make a reservation beforehand, since there are limited places.

It’s a place what you think about a bar or restaurant typically old German. You come inside and her all those people talking and laughing. We didn’t reserved and it was really full. But we could sit at a big tables with some others. We ordered a enter, a main meal and some beers. The dishes was so big that we had to ask for take away the rest. The meat was a bit dry but all the rest was so amazing. I love the atmosphere in there. It’s so personally. The owner/waiter always talked with me like a friend. The prizes for big meals we had was less expensive than somewhere else. We had a great evening there and if I would come back to Hanover I would go back there.

I almost walked past this place, which would have been a real shame. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and very delicious food. As far as I could see, it was all German cuisine. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is definitely worth a visit. It smelled great inside, of food, and people were relaxed and happy. For my tastes it was a tiny bit too noisy, but I'm very sensitive when it comes to that. - But if you're looking for a quiet, romantic corner, then I wouldn't call this it. I don't drink alcohol, but I could tell they had a nice selection. Prices are reasonable for the great quality of food, and portion size was perfect for me
