Raja Rani Heidelberg — Restaurant in Heidelberg

I decided to try Raja Rani based on good reviews even though some mentioned bad service and was very pleasantly surprised. I decided to get it to go even though there were tables, which may have recently changed as several reviews mentioned there were none. There was a very good selection of dishes, vegetarian, meat, and seafood, all available in large or small. There were also a large number of appetizer and dessert choices. Everything was very reasonably priced. I had a small order (plenty of food, even for an American like me) of Lamb Korma which was among the most expensive and it was only 5 euros.

My lamb was cooked very well and tender. The sauce was also very good and flavorful. As mentioned, even the small was a big portion. I wish it were a little spicier, though I realize that spicy food is very uncommon in Germany. I have a feeling if I had asked, they would make it spicier for me though.

The service was good, I had no problems. Even when I got confused and had to switch to English, they were friendly...

Worst experience ever. They are disgrace in the name of food industry. According to them it's supposed to be fast food restaurant. To be true it's not fast food it's a zero hospitality restaurant with no respect to there customer. Butter chicken curry was supposed to be Cashew nut and tomato but what we get was pumpkin paste curry. We ordered lamb chilli but we get served with lamb soup and lamb curry was sweet was we were having dessert. They serve food in the worst way as if they are doing us favour. We were served same as people provide food to , domestic animals like pigs . Sad but true they don't know the significance of "अतिथि देवो भवः" . To everyone who is reading this comment it's the place where you get food served with disrespect , they are serving nothing like the cuisine taste and not close to the hospitality of restaurant industry. According to them we as customer should ask for the curry which we ordered for main course in separate bowl or else we get served curry on the...

So I had lunch at this place...if I have to summarize this whole thing in one word, it would be AWESOME!!

So what’s good here-

The food is the best I’ve ever had in all of Germany. I ordered the ‘chicken chili’ with the garlic naan and it was amazing! If you fancy Indian food you MUST come eat here.

The staff is really cheerful and nice and serve the food very quickly and chat with you in a friendly way not to the point where it gets creepy tho. Neither when it gets awkward... just somewhere in the middle.

Plus point they have a mini shop at the side of the store and sell cool stuff (I have posted a picture of it on this page)

What’s bad??

Note that there is no restroom/WC/toilet or whatever you call it.

The restaurant is a little small and you may not find a spot to sit during peak hours. This has never happened to me although.
