Ristorante Papi Since 2012 — Restaurant in Heidelberg

Siamo stati da Papi con la mia ragazza per festeggiare un'occasione particolare. Avevamo già mangiato in questo ristorante, ma ieri sera abbiamo avuto il piacere di conoscere personalmente il nuovo pizzaiolo Samuele e la nuova cuoca Veronica, due persone veramente gentili che danno ancora più valore ai piatti preparati e agli ottimi ingredienti usati. Da ora in poi diventeremo clienti fissi del ristorante, che è sicuramente da consigliare, ottima pizza, ottimi piatti e ottimi dolci, tutto contornato da un personale gentile, cordiale e molto professionale.

We have been by Papi with my girlfriend to celebrate a special occasion. We had already eaten at this restaurant but last night we had the pleasure of knowing personally the new pizza maker Samuele and the new chef Veronica, really nice people who give even more value to the prepared dishes and the great ingredients used. From now on, we will become regular customers of this restaurant, that is definitely to recommend, great pizza, great food and good desserts, all surrounded by friendly and very professional staff.

Wir waren bei Papi mit meiner Freundin um einen besonderen Anlass zu feiern. Wir hatten bereits in diesem Restaurant gegessen, aber letzte Nacht hatten wir das Vergnügen, der neue Pizzabäcker Samuele und die neue Köchin Veronica persönlich kennenzulernen, wirklich nette Leute, die den vorbereiteten Gerichten und den großartigen Zutaten noch mehr Wertschätzung geben. Ab jetzt werden wir Stammkunden dieses Restaurants, das ist definitiv zu empfehlen, tolle Pizza, gutes Essen und gute Desserts, alle von freundlichen und sehr professionellen...

One of your best choices around Heidelberg center, admittedly a bit expensive. We (a couple) reserved online a couple of hours before going on a Sunday evening. We were greeted almost immediately and were asked for a couple of minutes of patience to be seated. We got two papi-spritz (very good and light for almost € 10) asked for an other table and eventually got one before the starter came. The place was packed and all personnel were very busy but very polite and helpful. They apologized for the delay of the starter, which was a delicious burrata caprese (around € 20). The main course were also very delicious: I had the grilled prawns (almost € 37) and my girlfriend the beef salad (almost € 33). I also had one glass of red Barbera d’Alba (almost € 8) which was also very good. The menus were printed and very well made with Napoli (and Maradona!) as a central theme. In total we were very happy with everything and we enjoyed our evening very much. So, highly recommended if you don’t...

Don’t waste your money here. Food was only decent, definitely not up to the level of price. Service is also not up to the level expected in a place like this. The two dishes I was interested in they didn’t even have. Very disappointing. And then the final kicker was being told AFTER the dinner that they only take cash. Too many other options within a 5 minute walk, wish I would have looked a little more.

Update: Now it appears the owner is trying to get Google to remove negative reviews as I was contacted by google to verify this review. Just more excuses like many others have mentioned. I stand by my review. I have eaten in many many restaurants in many countries, and even lived in Italy, Germany and America, my reviews are not without merit.
