Tenno Sushi Lounge - Heilbronn — Restaurant in Heilbronn

I went here when it had just opened about 3 years ago I think. It was fantastic, linen napkins, lush seats, and excellent decor. You felt like you were in Japan in a fine-dining restaurant. The menu didn't disappoint back then either; yellow fin tuna, fresh and super cut. Costly, of course, but we were coming out of covid and wanted to indulge. It was a memorable experience, so a couple of years later, we decided to go again. They've definitely had to bring their prices down to cater to their clientele. It's still from what I can gather, the most upmarket Sushi restaurant in Heilbronn. Gone are the linen napkins (I understand why), there are no more chopstick holders on the tables, which doesn't sit with me. The food was excellent, superbly presented. I'd give it €€€ in price cost, so still not on the cheaper side, but the quality and freshness of the fish was fantastic. Service was excellent, super friendly and competent. We did have to point out that he hadn't charged us for our bottle of wine!it happens, coming from the Industry myself, I can kind of relate, but they weren't super busy! Professionals 25+ seemed to be their clientele. I wish them well, they have a great venue (1 star off as it's looking a tad 'tired' after being there as it opened). The food was actually good and the staff was friendly, but we had to wait for one hour until we got our food after ordering. !!!THE REASON!!! why I rate this restaurant 1 star is that the manager of Insel hotel (as the restaurant is part of the hotel) was absolutely unfriendly and outrageous!! We had 8 people at the table and only 3 of us ordered drinks because not everyone was thirsty. What happened was she came to us with a despising look and told us what a shame it is that not everyone of us has ordered one drink. Even though we explained that not every single one of us was thirsty, she answered us that our behavior was incorrect!! How humiliating it was!! I mean...since when has ordering a drink become a rule to follow when dining at a restaurant? What she did to us was totally unacceptable!! Not to mention, we did order food for everyone. So it’s not like we were occupying the space without spending any penny. I feel totally sorry for this restaurant to have such a manager. It’s definitely better off...

We found a very pleasant atmosphere in this sushi restaurant. The menu offers a wide range of classic and signature sushi. The classic sushi was okay but nothing special. Signature dishes were delicious and high of quality. Dessert didn’t really amaze us. Mochi and ice were nothing special and the espresso was a little too sour. The service really disappointed us. They forgot part of our drinks and didn’t really care about us once we had our food. We had to wait a long time until the waiters came after calling them. For example, it took a very long time to receive the bill and to transact the payment process. The questions we asked could only be answered partially by the staff.
