AYAME — Restaurant in Kaiserslautern

We’ve been in Germany for 4 weeks and this was without a doubt the best food we’ve had! We went with the KARAAGE for an appetizer. Then we split the KYOTO OKONOMIYAKI and MANGO SUSHI! Wir waren am 21.3 und am 29.3 jeweils zum Mittagessen im Ayame.

Wir sind begeistert vom Essen. Wir hatten noch nie ein sooo gutes Sushi. Der Fisch wird bei Raumtemperatur serviert was das natürlich Aroma viel besser hervorhebt, als gekühlter Fisch. Der Reis ist relativ wenig, der Fisch ist üppig. Das Sushi hat beim Ayame eine ganz besondere Cremigkeit. Es ist zart und zergeht im Mund. Im Vergleich zu anderen Sushis ist das Sushi im Ayame ein gaumenschmeichelndes Geschmackserlebnis auf höchstem Niveau. Ich empfehle es ganz langsam im Mund zergehen zu lassen, um die Komposition richtig zu genießen.

Die Mittagsmenüs sind für den gebotenen Umfang und Geschmack wirklich ihren Preis wert.

Neben Sushi hatten wir noch Miso Suppe, Udon Suppe, einen Algensalat und einen Kartoffel-Krabbensalat. Alles war außerordentlich lecker, aber der Algensalat und die Miso Suppe hat uns bedonders gut gefallen.

Zum Nachtisch gab es Dorayaki. Ebenfalls ein sehr geschmackvolles Desert.

Bei allen Speisen ist uns sehr positiv aufgefallen, dass das Essen nicht überwürzt ist, sondern seine jeweilige zarte Eigennote behalten hat. Das hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Ein besonderes Highlight ist der Okonomiyaki: Ich würde es als eine Art Pfannkuchen bezeichnen, der aus Kohl/Kraut mit variablen Zutaten wie Kimchi, Fleisch, Shrimps etc. gemacht ist. Geschmacklich vollkommen anders als Sushi. Wesentlich intensiver und vollmundiger mit einem breiten Spektrum an Aromen.

Mittags ist eine Tischreservierung nicht unbedingt notwendig. Abends jedoch schon.

This is the best, freshest sushi I have ever had. It’s a tiny, quiet, cosy restaurant making for a perfect date with a partner or close friends. My girl friend and I would make this our monthly sushi date and our spouses started tagging along once they tasted it. The mango roll is on point!
