This is just an amazing restaurant / cafe. A perfect place to spend the afternoon, so if you are American get ready to sit still and enjoy your time. This restaurant is not about speed but quality. The price is right for the amount of food you get.
In US dollars, I spent about $19 for an amazing burger with french cheese, 2 large slices of bacon, a crispy hash brown patty on top, and it came with a side order of Cajun French Fries. And of course I had to pay for two bottles of water. Now that's not a bad deal for the amount of food you get. The burger was very large and flavorful. This was not some showoff burger but a delicious one. I highly recommend cutting it in half before you dislocate your jaw trying to take a first bite. The bun was soft and didn't over shadow the burger. I have never had a hashbrown in my burger before but it was an interesting experience and I would do it again...I would just have to make sure I come on an empty stomach. This is a must try burger, if only I can remember the name of it. The good part is you can see my image of it and show it to your waiter or waitress.
The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and classy. It feels upscale but relaxed enough to bring a child or two. I went on a Sunday with some friends, during their brunch buffet which looked simple, light, and clean. It came with your basic American type breakfast items like scrambled eggs and bacon, but they also had some fancy items like mozzarella with sliced tomatoes assorted cheeses and bread. I didn't have the buffet because I arrived as it was ending but they had a lot of items on the brunch bar.
As I mentioned in the beginning this place is not about speed, so if you want your food in a hurry I would look somewhere else. This is a perfect place to spend your Sunday morning, afternoon, or have a dinner date. You can eat at the bar, a table top, tall tables with stools near the bar, or along the walls in booths which look like comfortable couches. The service was friendly and relaxed and our waitress spoke english clearly, which made ordering food simple because she also brought us an english menu.
So this place gets a five star from me because of the five star service and food you receive. You can't go wrong with this place if you're in K-town and you want to have a relaxing time with some friends or...
Read moreBeen here twice in a week. Once for late night cocktails, the other for a crowded, Friday lunch. The location and outdoor people watching are fabulous. The service for late night drinks was also nice. Lunch on the otherhand...OMG. I ordered a chili burger with fries. Two women immediately sat down next to me after I placed my order. Let's just say, their food arrived AND they were finished with lunch before my burger appeared. Normally, I would have flagged someone down for a bit of urgency. Today, I was reading and knew I wouldn't die. However, the disappointment hit quickly. The fries were cold, not even warm. As in, they could have been sitting out since dinner last night. Plus, they needed a serious shake of salt (no S&P in sight.) Next came the burger. It was not horrible, but it was barely warm and very meh. Full disclosure, as an American who has been traveling Europe for 8 months, "What ta hell was I smoking when I ordered a burger?" Never a good idea. I seriously thought of requesting some warm fries, however, not 1 time did anyone ever stop by to say "boo." ...Would I return? Absolutely, but for the beautifully-made alcohol concoctions, desserts, a minimum of 2 hours, and zero place to be...Lastly, I stopped the wait staff and made her aware I was ready to pay with my card. I used the WC, asked the bartender on the way back outside if I could settle my bill, waited a solid 10 mins., requested my bill AGAIN. When I finally attempted to pay, I was told, "We are going to need another card. This one was declined." How about NO? You go find a card machine that actually works correctly...19€+ change and 2+...
Read moreWe tried the fresh buffet they offer Monday thru Sunday, as a Sunday Brunch. Due to having to move our reserved table, they graciously gave us our drinks free, even though it wasn't a huge hassle. They had toddler seats and we had enough room. The buffet line can get a little long, but the longest we waited was 5ish minutes maybe. The buffet itself offers bread and croissants, jams, butter, and yogurt, along with cured meats and cheese, typical german fare. They also offered more American types as well, cooked sausage, bacon, sunny side eggs, three types of scrambled, and tiny pancakes. Overall, the food was good to decent, nothing out of this world, but good little brunch. On sundays the buffet runs from 9 to 1400, at 12,35 euro a person, with orange juice and another type (not sure what it was) included. All other drinks were it's own price. Recommend, we will definitely check...
