Café Calma — Restaurant in Lübeck

WENT there TODAY 2/15/2014 AWESSSSSSSSSSSSSSOME !!!! Totally recommend it, we stumbled on whilst looking for something to eat. From the time we stepped into the place and left we were totally stoked!! Da food was amazing…PIZZA O-mY god!!! We had calamari’s for starters…AWESOME. And then ...DUCK with Salad and Reine PIZZA on a Rice paper base PIZZA god dam awesome… .finished off by Apple strudel and ice-cream and whipped cream and you get the picture AWESOME…!! WE will be going back again for sure, it’s worth the drive from Hamburg were our boat is currently in yard refit. There were 3 of us and we ate like kings and left like queens. We Hail from Australia and New Zealand and THIS was the B&mb!!!! OH toilets clean and place is sooo cozy with candles and metal stuff on the walls and had a Moroccan feel about it …and it felt as if you were back in time like knights eating around a table with your armor and stuff and drinking a good BEER or two with your meal. Lots of leg room and just AWESOME!!! YEAH the Manager was awesome and talked to us in his best English which was better than my best German  and he was a funny jokey guy too, and all the waitresses were very friendly...

Das Café ist leider sehr, sehr kinderunfreundlich. Man wird nicht wirklich willkommen geheißen mit Kindern, stattdessen bekommt man genervte Blicke. Es gibt im gesamten Café nur eine selbstgebastelte Sitzerhöhung, die dazu auch noch verdreckt ist. Am Besten ist es, wenn die Kinder ruhig und ohne einen Laut zu geben am Tisch sitzen (Was bei Kleinkindern unmöglich ist..), denn sonst bekommt man unschöne Kommentare seitens der Kellner. Außerdem ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Besteck oftmals verdreckt ist. Auch das Obst wird anscheinend auf dem gleichen Brett und gleichem Messer geschnitten wie der Schnittlauch, der zur Garnitur benutzt wird. Das Obst wird dann einfach in den Joghurt beigemischt. Dann verstehe ich aber nicht, warum man den Joghurt "Obst-Joghurt" nennt und nicht gleich "Schnittlauch-Joghurt". Sehr schade, dass man nur einen Punkt geben kann, aber leider sind diese Probleme einem immer wieder aufgefallen. Was meiner Meinung nach noch viel schlimmer ist, dass selbst der Chef eine sehr kinderunfreundliche Kultur in seinem Café vermittelt, sodass die Angestellten das einfach übernehmen. Ich komme definitiv nicht wieder und meine Empfehlung ist, dass Familien einen großen Bogen um das Café machen sollten.

Ein weiterer Punkt, den ich noch erwähnen möchte und jeder so bewerten kann, wie er möchte, ist, dass die Brötchen vom Aldi stammen, die natürlich pro Brötchen (unbelegt) bei Cafe Calma für 1,50 - 2,00 EUR in Rechnung gestellt werden. Selbstgebackene oder etwas "qualitativere" Brötchen kann man da...

The food is definitely not good at all … I was Supposed to get wild mushrooms and get champignons de paris fried for some Reason… each plate is greasy with a huge scoop of quark not yogurt sauce as stated in the description … without any herbs or salt or pepper so I got a salad with no dressing topped with some corn and chickpea out of the can … The front door of the café mentions that they take all cards but when I asked to pay with my EC I was told they take only cash the Machine is...
