Taj Mahal Restaurant — Restaurant in Lübeck

If you have never had Indian food before, then you might like the food. But if you know the original taste of Indian Cuisines, then it's better to skip this restaurant and find a better one.

We ordered Samosa's and Pakoras for starters. Samosa only had the filling of Potatoes and Peas. And Pakoras had little to nothing vegetable and a huge chunk of Chickpea flour.

The main dish, I had was Chicken Tikka masala, which was completely bland. And my friend had Vegetable Biryani with a lot of Cinnamon. I cook tastier biryani at home.

For dessert, we had Rasmalai. The milk balls were either mixed with starch or something because I have never eaten a harder Rasgulla before. And the cream was really thin and watery.

I am not sure if the cooks working have any idea of how Indian food really tastes like. Eating here is a complete waste of money. The best thing that I was happy...

This is a most excellent indian dining experience nestled right beside The Heiligan Geist historic Hospital. I have been here many times now and have never been disappointed in the presentation and quality of food. My favourite dish is Tandoori Lamb Tikka. Although very flavourful, Lamb tikka is very dry and requires a masala or patia sauce to be served with it. The restaurant doesn't seem to understand this and offers no sauce at all. I have made this request before on my many visits. I even offered to buy an extra sauce to no avail and was dependent on my friends sharing their sauces from their chosen dishes. We had a lovely dinner at Taj Mahal, Lübeck. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. They were especially kind and friendly with our children, which made the whole experience even better.

The food was delicious — I especially loved the chicken vindaloo, which was full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. But the real surprise was the mango tiramisu — it was heavenly! A perfect twist on a classic dessert.

Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Indian food with warm hospitality. We’ll definitely be coming back next time...
