A friend and I visited the Hot Jazz club for a salsa event. Sadly, our night was completely ruined by the service of the bartender. From the start, she seemed annoyed at our requests for drinks and that she had to work at all. She rolled her eyes at us when we asked for a rum and Coke Zero along with a tap water. She gave us the drinks with the glass of water not even being half full. As I was paying, she snatched the machine away when it asked if I wanted to be charged in Euro or in US dollars and then made the decision herself.
Later in the night, when I asked for another rum and Coke Zero, she made it and then said a different price than the first one I had ordered. Apparently she misheard me or something and simply gave me a regular Coke to which I said I had wanted a rum and Coke Zero. She said with a nasty expression, “You didn’t say Coke Zero!” and gave me the impression she thought I was stupid for not saying so. This made me extremely upset and I told the other bartender who was working that I wanted to talk to the manager. She said the bartender who had made me upset was the person in charge.
I will be writing an email to the Hot Jazz Club about this incident, because her demeanor and overall attitude were unacceptable for serving customers. I try very hard to be patient with people especially if I know it’s a busy night, but there was simply no excuse for this as we always spoke calmly and with kindness until the end when her attitude was too much to bear. We sincerely do not know what caused her rude behavior towards us from the start, or if it was purely because we are not German.
The salsa dancing would have been a nice event but unfortunately our experience with the personnel here makes me not want to...
Read moreIt plays good music, but unfortunately it's difficult to enjoy the experience because of the large pillars, and any tall person blocking the view of the low stage. What makes it worse is that one half of the viewing angle was taken up with people watching from dining tables. Surely it would've been better to move (or remove) the tables so that more people could see. There are cameras covering the stage, with the images shown on the monitors on the other side of the pillars, but some of the key cameras were out of focus!! I didn't travel 9 hrs to spend most of the time watching the act on an out of focus TV screen. I would've had better quality just watching them on YouTube! Fortunately, the quality of the act made up for some of the problems, and the staff...
