PierHouse — Restaurant in Münster

The nice atmosphere might be the only positive thing to mention for the restaurant is located next to the water which makes sitting outside very charming. Arriving was quite nice, free choice of tables. But the further the visit went, the more underwhelming the experience got. To begin with, we had to wait quite some time to actually order. But even then, it took an hour for the food to arrive. Not only did we have to wait for ages, the food was not even worth the wait. The chicken was not only well done, it was dry and hard to chew. It came with a bbq sauce, which was in no way house made. The side dishes (rice and sweet potato fries) as well as the salad were quite good but did not at all make up for the rest. The food altogether was quite salty and to say the least - underwhelming. Additionally the staff was not very friendly, and quite incompetent as they mixed up orders and the couple sitting at the sable next to us left after not being served at all for an entire hour. Wir sind leider mehr als enttäuscht. Wir hatten uns auf einen richtig schönen Abend an unserem Hochzeitstag gefreut.

Ein Kellner ignorierte unseren Tisch die ganze Zeit, egal wie sehr man den Arm hob. Ein zweiter sagte uns die ganze Zeit, er würde sofort kommen. Dann kam endlich eine Kellnerin. Zunächst wurde mein Mann bei der Bestellung nicht beachtet und nur meine Bestellung wurde aufgenommen. Nach nachfragen ob er denn auch was bestellen dürfte, wurde dann seine Bestellung aufgenommen.

Nach guten 3 Minuten kam unsere Vorspeise - wirklich schnell. Aber leider noch keine Getränke. Diese kamen dann etwas später und getrennt. Zunächst mein Mann sein Bier und etwas später dann endlich mein Cocktail. Kaum hatten wir die Vorspeise auf wurde dann auch direkt das Essen meines Mannes gebracht. Nachdem mein Essen gute 5 Minuten später noch nicht da war, fragten wir nach. Uns sagte man, dass die Sandwiche halt noch brauchen würden. Nach weiteren 5 Minuten kam eine andere Kellnerin und sagte, dass es wegen meinem Essen geklärt werden würde. Nach 15 Minuten reichte es uns dann und mein Mann stand auf um unsere Vorspeise und die zwei Getränke zu bezahlen.

An der Theke wurde uns dann von der Kellnerin gesagt, dass wir ja quasi selber schuld wären, weil mein Mann später bestellt hätte. Das sie seine Bestellung eigentlich nicht aufnehmen wollte und sein essen da war interessierte sie gar nicht. Ein anderer Kellner ging in die Küche und brachte uns dann endlich mein Essen. Das Essen meines Mannes war nur noch lauwarm, aber wir aßen dann gemeinsam.

Aber ab dem Zeitpunkt wurden wir komplett ignoriert. Nach mehrfacher Nachfrage ob wir noch Getränke bestellen könnten hatten wir dann keine Lust mehr und bestellten die Rechnung. Diese bezahlten wir dann auch vollständig (das erste mal aber ohne, dass wir Trinkgeld gegeben haben!) und wurden erst danach gefragt, ob man uns was aufs Haus anbieten könnte. Wir verneinten und verließen den Laden schnellstmöglich. Erste und letzte Mal! Kann ich nur...

The location is superb with great view of the hafen. And the good thing stops there. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. They forgot one of our drinks and we followed it up 3x times but still to no avail. They are distracted with other things. And when one of the staff came with drinks they gave us the wrong one. We also asked for extra plate but it never came. We also have to ask to 3 diff wait staff for our bill. When we gave them a feedback, the staff can also say "ah". No apologies whatsoever. As for the food, so-so, with little to no flavour. There are better choices nearby :) will...
