I had the pleasure of visiting Augustiner Bräustuben with my team and some business partners. We were a large group of 20, but this didn't phase the staff in the slightest. Despite our sizeable party, the service remained friendly, relaxed, and attentive. The staff handled our bustling group with such grace and professionalism, and they deserve major kudos for their efforts. The atmosphere in the beer hall was definitely lively, but it was this vibrancy that sparked engaging, casual conversations and contributed to an overall cheerful mood. It was the perfect setting for our convivial gathering. The selection of food and beverages at the Bräustuben was genuinely impressive. There's something for everyone, and I would rate the quality of the food as upper-tier tavern level - which is indeed meant as a high compliment. The dishes were simply delicious and well-prepared, just as you would expect in a traditional Bavarian inn. In short, Augustiner Bräustuben is a place where you can enjoy a real Bavarian beer experience – complete with tasty food, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere. I can't wait for my next visit. Five stars, no doubt about it!

Our dining experience at this restaurant was marred by unfortunate incidents. While the food was enjoyable, our encounter with the Indian waiter left much to be desired. From the moment we, an Asian couple who resemble Chinese, were seated, it was evident that there was a lack of attention towards us until a group of German guests at our shared table noticed and provided us with menus. Despite the long wait, the waiter took our order without any courteous gestures, which we reluctantly accepted due to the chaotic atmosphere of the restaurant. When our food arrived, it was brought to us without a word from the waiter, who failed to inform us of the location of utensils until the German guests kindly assisted. However, our experience was most distressing during the bill payment. The waiter aggressively pressured us to add a tip to our bill, making derogatory remarks when we declined. Normally, we tip for services in restaurants. However, we refused to tip in this instance due to his poor service and aggressive pressure, which felt threatening. This culminated in him targeting me, an Asian woman who resembles Chinese, with inappropriate comments about tipping customs in Germany and questioning my nationality. Following our unpleasant encounter with the Indian waiter, we felt compelled to share our experience. After enduring repeated harassment regarding tipping, we brought the matter to the manager's attention upon leaving the table. The manager swiftly intervened and asked Thomas, another waiter who spoke English, to listen to our concerns. Thomas was incredibly polite and helpful in trying to resolve the situation. We conveyed that we did not seek an apology from the Indian waiter but simply wanted his name for future feedback purposes. Unfortunately, the Indian waiter persisted in his misconduct, interrupting our conversation with Thomas to continue his rude and unacceptable behaviour. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of an otherwise decent establishment. We urge the restaurant management to take this matter seriously and ensure that all guests are treated with respect and professionalism regardless of their background. In terms of personal conduct, the Indian waiter's actions were not only disrespectful but also exhibited elements of racism and unprofessionalism. By the way, we are an Asian couple with over a decade of multicultural living and working experience in Europe, and we were shocked to encounter extreme racism during our visit to this restaurant. Despite our extensive travels, this was our first bad experience of such magnitude. We hope that appropriate measures will be taken to address this issue and ensure that all guests are treated with dignity and respect in the future.

This typically rustic, noisy Beer Cellar styled place has a great atmosphere. We went in on a cold early Saturday evening. People of all ages frequent this tavern. It's a little crazy in that nobody welcomes you and one doesn't know where to sit or if they can. The waiters said, "they were just waiters", and the Host was nowhere. The waiters didn't offer to look for him. In the end we were told to sit anywhere there wasn't a reserved sign, so i recommend making a reservation. The food is typically Bairish, roast chicken, pork knuckle etc. We had slices of pork with mashed potato and half a roast chicken with a potato salad. Both meats soft and juicy, both dishes tasty. The Augustiner beer is great, I could drink pints of it. The atmosphere is busy, loud and merry, with heart laughs, lots of chatter and the odd beer chant. Good stuff!! Definitely with a visit if you really want to go local in Munich.

Immediately upon entering, the service was horrible. The waiter made us sit with another group of people that reserved the table (this we didn't mind as the desk was large), but then he kept pushing us further so that he can fit more people. He was extremely rude to people asking for the menu or when they called him to order beer. His whole demeanour was extremely off-putting. The food did arrive quickly. We had a schnitzel “Munich style”, which was very tasty, and "Mixed bavarian meat specialities," which was horrible. All the meat tasted the same, was dry, and the "dark beer gravy" was more water with a taste of beer. It was also strange that first we got one dish, and the second one later, so one person basically finished half the dinner until the other started. You could also only pay with cash, which was, I think, just some technical error that evening, but a huge inconvenience.

My all-time favourite Bavarian restaurant in Munich. If you get a seat in the so called 'Bierhalle' you get a little bit of Beer festival feeling! It's inexpensive, good. A fresh beer from the barrel is less than 3* euros as of January 2022! Yes, you've read correctly; less than 3 euros in Munich for a freshly drafted beer!!! The menu is rather short, which I prefer, but got decent Bavarian classic like 'Schweinebraten' (roasted pork) for less than 12** euros if I remember correctly. For dessert I would recommend 'Kaiserschmarrn'. Great place to be. You can easily connect with locals foreigners of any age. A have to go in Munich! Update December 2022: *A fresh beer is now 3,5 euro. **Roasted pork is almost 14 euros. Yesterday we had a bit of bad luck?! The sausages were cold and the food in general was a bit over-salted. After notifying the waiter, we got new hot sausages.

The restaurant is not very discreet since it has no windows overlooking into the street. Once you walk into the entrance though, it gets quite noisy. The place looks like a giant warehouse with long picnic tables with chairs and benches. You seat yourself anywhere you can find open seating. The atmosphere is very lively and loud. We ordered the 1/2 portion of the pork knuckle, roast pork, and sauerkraut. The 1/2 pork knuckle was the size of hand! The meat was super soft and tender. The crust was super crispy and crunchy. The crust was a bit salty so I broke it apart and allowed for it to sit in the gravy. The gravy made the pork skin less salty and the skin kept its crunchiness. I would highly recommend someone to just try this dish but maybe share with another person.
