Our dining experience at this restaurant was marred by unfortunate incidents. While the food was enjoyable, our encounter with the Indian waiter left much to be desired. From the moment we, an Asian couple who resemble Chinese, were seated, it was evident that there was a lack of attention towards us until a group of German guests at our shared table noticed and provided us with menus.

Despite the long wait, the waiter took our order without any courteous gestures, which we reluctantly accepted due to the chaotic atmosphere of the restaurant. When our food arrived, it was brought to us without a word from the waiter, who failed to inform us of the location of utensils until the German guests kindly assisted.

However, our experience was most distressing during the bill payment. The waiter aggressively pressured us to add a tip to our bill, making derogatory remarks when we declined. Normally, we tip for services in restaurants. However, we refused to tip in this instance due to his poor service and aggressive pressure, which felt threatening. This culminated in him targeting me, an Asian woman who resembles Chinese, with inappropriate comments about tipping customs in Germany and questioning my nationality.

Following our unpleasant encounter with the Indian waiter, we felt compelled to share our experience. After enduring repeated harassment regarding tipping, we brought the matter to the manager's attention upon leaving the table.

The manager swiftly intervened and asked Thomas, another waiter who spoke English, to listen to our concerns. Thomas was incredibly polite and helpful in trying to resolve the situation. We conveyed that we did not seek an apology from the Indian waiter but simply wanted his name for future feedback purposes.

Unfortunately, the Indian waiter persisted in his misconduct, interrupting our conversation with Thomas to continue his rude and unacceptable behaviour. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of an otherwise decent establishment.

We urge the restaurant management to take this matter seriously and ensure that all guests are treated with respect and professionalism regardless of their background. In terms of personal conduct, the Indian waiter's actions were not only disrespectful but also exhibited elements of racism and unprofessionalism.

By the way, we are an Asian couple with over a decade of multicultural living and working experience in Europe, and we were shocked to encounter extreme racism during our visit to this restaurant. Despite our extensive travels, this was our first bad experience of such magnitude. We hope that appropriate measures will be taken to address this issue and ensure that all guests are treated with dignity and respect...

From the moment I entered the door, the waiter only served the group of family and he passed me eventhough I made an eye contact. That was bearable, I just stood there and waited for him again.

He let me into the restaurant and there were less than 10 people on the 1st floor. Until I'm done with my meal and paid the bill, there were still plenty of seats to be seated.

But he forced me to sit on the nearest seat to the entrance, where people are passing by all the time and even some people just put their bag on the chair in front of me and do their business.

I really wanted to move my seat but I knew he would not allow me to do so, because he tapped on the table several times to be seated here only even without looking at me.

Eventhough I was not able to order in German, I tried my best to politely order in English and never forgot to say "Danke". Eventhough he just put the glass of beer with a big sound and took the knife (which is placed on the table) out of me abruptly, I just endured it.

But the most thing I cannot bear is that this was not only to me, but also to two Japanese women who came to the restaurant. He did exactly the same thing to them, and I could see they're embarrassed because of the lcoation of the seats.

The seats near to the entrance is for the people who didn't make the reservation? It doesn't make sense because I've seen a lot of white german people who came without reservation and getting their seat inside. At least he could explain the reason.

I don't want to feel it in this way, but I can't help thinking that this is because I'm small, asian, woman, coming alone. Felt very depressed and humilitated.

His name was Tran. Other than him, other waiters were welcoming and tried to serve me, making appropriate eye contact with a friendly and polite tone of voice. (But Tran stopped them and served me by himself. Maybe my table was in charge of his duties.)

I don't want to have this kind of feeling and experience paying my money, spending my time, talking to someone who treats me badly.

Your restaurant's food was nice. I could see all chefs and waiters are working hard.

However this waiter made my day so depressed. Hope this won't...

The food here is good. The atmosphere was amazing. The service let absolutely everything down. Our waiter, Vladan, made this experience terrible. It was obvious when we arrived that the venue was busy. Having now been to multiple busy Munich venues of a similar ilk, we expected that things may take some time, but were more than willing to wait. But when it came to actually ordering, multiple items that were brought to the table were completely incorrect. We aren’t fluent German speakers, and acknowledge this as an issue, so took to pointing at the menu for extended periods of time each time we attempted to order to ensure things were correct. Our waiter indicated they were. They were not. In three drink orders, a food order and a dessert order, only one drink order came out correct. This went far beyond a language barrier, but we accepted it and moved on. The food was still good, even if not what we wanted/ordered! Then came time to pay, and we were presented with an eftpos machine with an option to tip. I was told that the tip was not included, and I could tip 5, 10 or 20 percent. When I selected no tip, I was repeatedly and somewhat aggressively asked “why no tip”. When I stated that a few items we ordered weren’t correct, I was again, repeatedly asked in an extremely rude tone “why no tip”. I replied that in my mind, tipping occurs when service goes beyond your expectation. The service we received was far below what I would expect at any sit down restaurant, because we basically never got what we ordered. But despite that, we had no intention to dispute our bill, and just accepted that we would pay for what was received. Despite this, we were rudely confronted by a member of staff who had repeatedly made significant errors and who was throughout the night quite unpleasant to deal with. Would not recommend if you value being treated...

Love this traditional Bavarian restaurant with it's traditional settings and very traditional Bavarian food. The large beer barrels underneath the tables, the waitresses in their traditional Bavarian outfits and food served in local metallic saucepans all come together to complete the medieval setting of this place. The large wooden floors, with long wooden tables and benches reminds one of the good old days. The menu is rich with traditional Bavarian dishes of roast duck, big fat sausages, steak, pork, served in a dark rich thick sauce complete with traditional mashed potatoes. Our foods arrived less than 5 minutes after placing the order, quite impressive for such a busy place and with regards to some earlier reviews I read by others. And the beer is definitely out of this world as the restaurant serves it's own beer brewed in its own brewery just beside the restaurant. It's one of the 6 local breweries participating every year at the Oktoberfest with 50% of it's profits ploughed back into the local community. Watching the waitresses pour and serve the beer is another delight as the beer lager trails after them on the wooden floors. A must visit place in Munich especially if you're a lover of everything meat, beer and pretzels. You can just drop in and be seated as we were but it might also be best to call ahead and book a table, especially if having a mini crowd for lunch or dinner. Don't know if they serve breakfast. Whatever options you choose, you'll definitely get attended to fast enough but you might not get your preferred seating. Despite the very traditional settings, the restaurant boasts of very large TV screens where diners could watch the world cup matches while eating or drinking glasses of beer. Looking forward to another visit soon
