I recently visited Baoz! Bar and had a bit of a mixed experience. While the overall food was okay, there were certain aspects that stood out and others that fell short.
Let's start with the positives. The dumplings at Baoz! Bar were truly fantastic. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the fillings were incredibly delicious. Whether it was the traditional pork dumplings or the more adventurous options, I couldn't help but be impressed by their quality. The pork belly dish was another standout, perfectly cooked and tender. These dishes alone make me consider returning to Baoz! Bar.
However, I must admit that I was disappointed with their baos. Sadly, they didn't meet my expectations. The baos lacked the fluffy and delicate texture I was hoping for, and the fillings were somewhat underwhelming. It's possible that I caught them on an off day, but it left me feeling unsatisfied.
The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with a trendy and modern interior that created a cozy atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, which enhanced the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Baoz! Bar has its highs and lows. If you're a fan of dumplings and pork belly, you won't be disappointed. However, the baos didn't live up to the same standard. If you're looking for a place solely for dumplings, it might be worth a...
Read moreHad very high hopes as we do not have a lot of jiaozi and baozi places here. Plus, I sometimes have a craving for Xiao Long Bao and without Tim Ho Wan or Din Tai Fung outlets in Munich, I was happy to spot the place. Service is really nice and very correct. The drinks ok (Johannisbeerschorle a bit warm 0.3l for 3.20) and also with some more exotic choices and the bowl was really good (sour spicy, duck with Udon noodles, around 8.90). The Xiao Long Bao tasted upper medium, likely not homemade like their other baozi - not bad at all but also not what reminds you of those good old days at the small cornershop in Shanghai :) (6 for 6 EUR, 10 for 10). As a crossover, I also had the seaweed salad wakame, which had lots and lots of sauce and came on a bed of cucumber - bit too much sauce for me but tasty on a hot day - not bad (4 or 5 EUR). Unlike some of the reviews here, I liked my baozi (peanut sauce one) actually better than the starters and would range it between the big bowl and the 2 starters (3.90 EUR). All in all a good albeit not super place (yet) - cannot go wrong there and I will also come again. 4 stars plus...
Read moreWhat a wonderful and amazing place. They have an truly delectable food. It surpassed my first thoughts of the place when I simply first noticed it when I walked past it.
Over the course of the night, I had tried the Bao and the big bowl soup with rice noodles and extras spicy broth. The food was amazing. It was clear to see how clear to see how much the owners cared about producing the best quality they could. Also evident from the photo of them stating to let them know how to make it better.
The food was also extremely well valued. The big bowl was...big and had plenty for one person and could be shared.
I was happy to see regulars in the restaurant and those who seemed to know the value of the food. I hear people talk about the different menu items with passion.
The owners were very lovely and nice. They have a passion to feed others and it shows.
This is my favorite place in Munich so far for this type of food and will be back...
